Best bass is a 147 or 122.
The gills on the wood leslies shapes the sound i a very pleasant manner.

For gigging a 3300 and a basscombo amp would be a good combination

I cannot understand why the 3300 is so very expensive, at least $4000 AUD here, over $4000 USD. Ridiculous.

Hammondking, you are right! I was a little too hasty with the splitter idea. A small, inexpensive mixer (under $50) from Nady or others will do the job, and spending a bit more get lots more channels and features. That is, as you point out, the right way to do it to match levels and minimise distortion.

But listen to this! I got a SECOND bad PV115D! Yup! Returned the first, got the second, and the HF driver didn't work. Returned that one, and now they tell me GC won't have any until mid-Novenber! Methinks Peavey is having a few teething problems with their Chinese assemply location. However, it is turning out to not be as big a deal as I feared. Everyplace we play there seems to be a sound guy, ready to mic or DI the organ. Heck, I could probably just bring the Nord and run it through the PA. So my obsession with having enough wattage and speaker to deal with any venue turns out to be uneccessary.

And yes, the new weighted action digital pianos are incredible, playable, light, and inexpensive. And probably (although I haven't tested this out yet) free from the sonic junk which made amplifying the earlier ones to high levels so problematic.

However, my musical life is not problem free. I made the dumb mistake of mentioning to my band (The Jilly Rizzo) that a friend had just given me a nice accordian, and they made me start using it. Talk about humiliation!

But on the other hand, I'm pleasantly surpised by all the use I'm making of the Pipe, Farf, and Vox models on my C-2. Doubling down on the bass with bass guitar and pipe-organ pedals is really something. I don't know what, but something.

In the US (West Coast) the Leslie 3300 sells for $2400, but I believe they are thin on the ground.

Okay, that's the end of powered speakers, Motion Sound Pro3x's and large keyboard amps! I got a taste of the stage conditions we will play under, and there's even less room than I thought. And since each guitarist must have at all times a effects pedal-board based on a 4'x8' sheet of plywood, there's even less room for me. Besides, all the volume and coverage is supplied by the PA which also supplies the monitors. From now on I bring my Nord C-2, an x-brace stand just large enough to fit, and a tiny personal amp. The organ gets DI'ed into the PA, and it's Leslie sim all the way. If I use a rotary horn or Leslie, my stage volume is too loud, and I can't properly hear the other instruments, or it bothers the other players.
The tiny personal amp isn't even necessary as a monitor, but is nice to have during set-up, tuning before the PA is switched on. Who knows, I may dispense with that, too and just use the monitor. The less I have to lug, the better.
I've been away for a long time, and things have changed, a lot. And who's stupid idea was it to add Hammond organ to a punk band, anyway?

The additional cost may well be freight charges. Mine i believe was built in the States ( but I don't know that for sure). I know it shipped to me in Canada from the US. When I asked the dealer for a price he mentioned "with freight and brokerage etc it will be x" Just a thought. Cheers Mike

Hi all,
this is a related question.
Have just bought a C1 and if I want to just run it into a mono amp, which jack output do I use and will this compromise the sound in any way?
Cheers.( I will be using the rotary hammond sound )

I have the same question. I have a MotionSound Pro145. Which output jack should I use (mono).

Pro 145. Use left or right. Turn of Leslie simulation

Mono feed with simulation - use left or right. Or if you have a mini mixer try and combine left and right
May sound strange I haven't tried it. I do not now how they sum up in mono. Could produce strange phase effects.
If you take left you get A simulation of The left top mike and the bass rotor mike

thanks for that. I've been trying to get quite a attacking sound and the closest I have got to what I want is to run in mono into my Boss Lesley sim with all the built in effects turned off and it direct out. Have now tried both outputs and not noticed any difference between left and right.I find the built in leslie sim a little compressed for the sound I like. When not D.I. I will run in mono through an old Randall combo with a EV S200 linked.
Cheers again.
