Pipe setting on C2d

Just a quick question abut the pipe organ mode. If I want to play the pipe settings do I need to use two speakers one left and one right? And I'm not sure that I know how to use couplers,what they do? If anyone could give me the 5 minute lesson that would be most helpful. I am going to try and use this C2d in my Masonic Lodge as our big old Conn theater organ is acting up and might need to beaut to sleep. Thanks Howard.

Sure, it'll sound better in stereo. I do believe the sample-based pipe organ is stereo. Couplers couple the stops from one manual to the keys of another manual. If the coupler has a number after it (4' or 16') that means the manuals are coupled, but one octave higher (4') or lower (16') Try them! At a moderate volume. And remember, since the C2D pipe organ is modeled pretty authentically, the swell pedal only works for the swell manual, and the great manual is generally much louder than the swell until the pedal is full open or stops from great are coupled to it. The great manual and pedals are full open all the time, so you may have to re-adjust the master volume. There's a full section on the pipe organ in the manual.
And try the numbered programs for pipe organ settings, as they wll have effects in them. Or you can set it up from the panels. And I believe there some kind of "bottom-note-of-chord-gets pedal" feature on the lower manual, and the lower manual can be split in the Pipe Organ mode, too.
I hope that helps. No internal sim on Pipe Organ mode, and it doesn't sound very good, to me, played through a leslie.

Just to add a little to Mooser's comments. The simulated pedal function (which adds any selected pedal stop to the bottom note you play on the lower "Great" manual) can be accessed by turning on the "Ped/Gr Low" control. (That is what it is called on the C2; I presume it is the same on the C2D). The "Sub Octave " couplers (Swell16 / SW16/GR) allow you to play whatever stops you have selected at the octave below. So, if you have the 8' Oboe on the Swell & couple this to the Great with the SW16/GR, it will sound as a 16' Oboe. Unlike most pipe organs, though, I have been told that this effect goes right down to the bottom note. Pipe organs generally do not have the extra octave of pipes below the indicated footage, so the effect runs out at tenor C. Just a clarification (unless I am wrong - "What again?"). You normally cannot couple stops FROM the Great manual TO the Swell (ie play the Great Flute on the Swell manual). Oh, and Mooser is right that playing the Pipe Organ through a Leslie sounds horrible. Just look online for demos & you will hear some truly appaling things! Properly amped, though, I am sure the C2D will sound wonderful.

The c2/c2d sounds ok in a 145 leslie as long as you use stop or chorale.
Tremolo (fast) sounds unnatural.

My apologies for writing in haste & only half of the message. Yes, of course it an active tremuant in the Leslie which, if used with the Pipe Organ, sounds unnatural & it is that which I have heard. Thanks for the correction flmc59

I just checked, and if you don't have a manual, they can be downloaded at Nord as PDFs. The Pipe Organ features could be pretty obscure without the manual.

You can bet that one of the first things I did when I got my C2 (naturally, the day before they released the C2D) was rev up the Pipe Organ, and put it through the Leslie. I thought it would be great! But it wasn't.

BTW, don't forget about the "Shift" menu choices for Pipe Pedal Level and Pipe Swell Level! Otherwise the volumes may be unbalanced.
