I currently use a Korg Kronos for both big band music and live rock performances, and I am sure all of you who also own this instrument can with confidence say that all sounds on there are absolutely astonishingly good. With that said, more and more often I pull out the tonewheel organ sounds (which are also very good), but I miss having the proper organ keyboard (since I use a Kronos 88 with weighted hammer action). In short: fingers being worn out.
This is why I consider getting the Nord C2D, as this might give me the real organ experience that I cannot get on the Kronos. But I wonder about the sounds head to head; do anyone in here know about this? If so, how would you compare the B3 tonewheel sounds on the Kronos (basically a CX3 on steroids) to the corresponding sounds on the C2D? Thanks

Re: Nord C2D vs Korg Kronos
The Kronos uses the CX3 engine I believe, which, while it was good for its day, has far been superseded by 3 generations of clone wheel development. The C2D will be much, much better than the Kronos.

Re: Nord C2D vs Korg Kronos
I own the Kronos 61 and the Nord C2. The C2 has the exact same sound "engine" as the C2D. The Kronos CX3 does not even come close to the realism of the Nord in every way. I also own a 1964 Leslie 145 and the Nord leslie simulation is so good that I rarely use the real leslie on stage. I prefer to use two QSC K8 powered speakers in stereo, one on each side of me on the floor (not behind me). I usually use the the high pass filter switch on the K8's to kill the low end (smaller inside gigs) as I don't play left hand bass live. I have owned most high end brands of Pro keyboards and play more live shows a year than the average player. They really are the best built brand I have ever used. I still use my Stage 88 Rev B that I bought new and had the C1 before the C2. You might check out a used C2 on Ebay if you can do without the drawbars (I did).
The Mojo sounds great (I also own GSI's VB3 software on a V-machine) but I have reserves about the hardware quality. Once I mapped all the controls of the nord C2 to the VB3 just to see if it could be done. The VB3 software is wonderful. Great job Guido!

Re: Nord C2D vs Korg Kronos
There is a unit called Ocean Beach that has drawbars as an add on to the C2
Or you can buy doepfer cards and drawfaders from them.
Or use old spinnet parts as I did.
Adding drawbars makes a bigg diff.
The sound of the C2/c2d in a 145 is really amazing.
The C1 in a 145 sounds great to.
The C1 through the VB3 leslie sim or a NeoVentilator sounds great to. And a C1 can be had for a very reasonable sum
