Do you plan to take it out, or will it sit in your home? If you play out, I can't think of a better alternative than the C2D+3300. You got one heavy-ish piece, but it's already got wheels and handles, and the C2D is an easy lift. One cord, and you're done. If I am not mistaken (and it's easier to type that then look it up) the "new B-3" models from Hammond Suzuki weigh about the same as a vintage B-3. Do they weight them? And wood-finish Leslies get so beaten-up when they're trundled around. Does a 122xb even have a "line out" for PA reinforcement? One thing the Hammond has is the nine-contact keys-switches, if that makes a significant difference to you.

You can't go wrong with a C2D. Wait a minute, I just noticed the flag. Of course you'll buy the Nord!

This is just for home.

I have a Sk2 + ventilator for gig.

I want a nice organ with pedals and leslie. Always play ready.

Some week i nearly bought an A100 1963 with leslie 245. The age, electronic and weight freightened me.

Hamichord?

From the sound perspective. Nothing sounds as good as a Pre 1974 A B C Hammond in a Leslie. Period!!!!!
Any thing else is a compromise - and a compromised sound.

The keyboard on the newb3 is not the same quality and feel as on the pre 1974.
A pre 1974 hammond is built like a tank. They are simple electromechanical instruments. With oil and a littte TLC the last a very long time.
I doubt that the newb3 is built to the same extreme overengineeirng standards.

With a c2d you get a portable instrument that sounds very good.
With the new B3 you the Big Cabinet. And the nine contacts which gives you the correct control over the attack.

Since you have the Sk2 for gig work ...... I would go for the A100 then you do not have to think about "does it sound right" you will have the master instrument.
The new B3 is more than 100 kilo but not as heavy as the tonewheler.

Hi Octopus,

I surely would go for the B3! Nothing compares to such a beautiful piece of furniture!

Off topic, however, I would be very interested how glad you are with the sk 2. I have a C2 and am happy with it but from time to time I dream of drawbars, additional sounds and above all a warmer more tube-like organ sound!!
I am not quite sure if the Hammond could deliver the latter...maybe I am just in need of a real leslie and a tube preamp to get the organ sound I am dreaming of...

to flmc59:
Yes, the C2 is upgraded to V2.0 and I think the update has taken the c2 to a new level. The Leslie and overdrive sound much better than before to my ears.
Maybe a great thing for the Nord would be an insert effect loop allowing the signal to be routed through a tube preamp before reaching the leslie simulation. I am still not completely satisfied especially with the high drawbars, they sound a bit too harsh, too cold in my opinion.

to octopus:
Please let us know how you like the 3300 once you have bought it! To be honest, I cannot deny a hint of envy when thinking about your future setup...;-)!!

What about Crumar Hamichord and KeyB duo? Both are excellent hammond clones with original hammond layout and look. They are also around 23kg. So you may even gig with it.
