Hi guys, i'm pretty new to this stuff so I wanted to ask here. I recently bought a Saffire Focusrite soundcard and plan to use it live with my C2 and was wondering if I can, in some way, set it up with both manuals routed to different vsti's in Reaper or Ableton. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Cheers, Jan

Re: Nord C2 - using both manuals for different vsti's
Hi Jan,
I can think of two situations:
1 - each manual uses a separate MIDI channel
2 - both manuals use the same channel, but the keys are in a different range
I have no idea which one of the two is correct (and I can't really check the manual where I am right now).
Fortunately it is pretty easy to test which one is the case (might depend in MIDI settings on the organ).
If you have a Mac, you could run the free utility 'MIDI Monitor' to investigate MIDI coming from your C2. On Windows you can use 'MIDI-OX'. You can find the download for both with Google.
Check out with either utility what the C2 actually sends when playing both manuals. The first variant would be ideal, as you could simply select a different MIDI channel for the tracks in Live that have your VSTi's in them.
If the second variant is how it works, you might be able to use MIDI filtering in Live to filter out the lower manual for one VSTi and the upper one for another. You could also have Live transpose the MIDI data to whatever octave you want.
I'm pretty sure you can get something working, though you might need to do some investigating.
I'd start with having a look at what the two manuals generate (MIDI-wise) and having a look at the MIDI menu on the C2.
Cheers,
Mathijs

You can set the mide channel for midi out separately.
So it should be no problems having different sounds

I do believe all the MIDI parameters are in the manual, last couple of pages.
