C2D not overworked

Postby LeftyBass68 » 15 Feb 2021, 19:18

Just to make sure it works played the C2D the other day.Wow it still inspires me! If and when a gig does happen I will be happy to make use of it!
It records well, feels great and mimics these Hammonds as well as any.

I have recorded it line level as instrument,Lo-Z as a speaker load, also took a Leslie 142 into a world class recording studio for a session to use with it!

At home I use a Hammond A102 that is my favorite vintage.1963 just before the tone generator filter caps became 'red and sealed'.Personal taste.
My favorite gig Leslie if the band plays reasonable volume is the 142.Usually this is the case.Sometimes it is not enough DB though.
Rather than break out two boxes,a pair of 145 or 147,I feed a Neo Vent in stereo to powered speakers. No custom Leslies for me.Been there done that 40 years ago.
And I can still hear too.Usually at home upper speakers are 5" nearfields and leaning against the grill cloth upside down below? Meyer UPM-1P's!
Leslies are completely over rated IMO.One of my favorite players is Brian Auger.Hasn't used one in half a century.

The on board Leslie sim waits patiently for a turn haha. The repurposed M/E/E halfmoon switch with the Tele 3 way in it?Will toggle 'Memphis' or "chorale'.Or work with another Boss FS-6 on the floor too!
No reaching for the button on the C2D for me,too many years with the real deal.At least the vib/perc tabs are ergonomically correct locations if not copies like other clones.
Never needed more than four presets a manual in the nearly sixty years of playing Hammonds.Don't miss preset keys that 'don't stay down' like some modern clones.Cancel this......
NS3C NS2EX88 C2D Yamaha MOX8 Behringer Model D (5) Behringer Neutron (5) Roland Lucina AX9 12 Hammonds/Leslies.(BV/BCV/B2/3 A100's/M3/M102 etc.
