C2D and Leslie 330 Proline
Leslie 330 is now a happily adopted and taken place at my house.
Got it yesterday, it's in exceptional condition for a 1975 model. Needs a service on the Amp and horn driver, but other than that, this 2 speed with Brake sounds great with my Nord C2D organ.
Amazing what you can find on Gumtree!
Compensation for Solid State harshness, the C2D's EQ is invaluable. Bass set to 3/4, Mid just out a tiny tiny bit, and Hi's at Zero.
Anyone else have or tried this great Leslie? It's 60w compared to the 145 40w.
I'm getting it suped up a little, looking at transplanting the 760 amp over to it for some extra power.
"The New Shorty - model 330
Model 330 was issued in 1975. The concept is the same as model 760 - a classic horn/rotor speaker in a portable tolex-covered cabinet. The cabinet size is 37" with casters, i.e. roughly the same size as the older model 145. Technically this speaker is slightly different than the 760. The amplifier is a single channel 60W with a passive cross-over like in the old tube Leslies. This makes the 330 a popular Leslie to convert to tube amplification. Another noticeable difference is that the input socket is the modern 11pin type, making it necessary for the speaker to have a separate power cord (see below).
The picture on the left is an early version of the 330 - the tag is the 'solid state' type logo with the red ProLine badge on the other side. Later ProLine Leslies had the ProLine moniker on the main badge in place of the 'solid state' wording that had become old news by the late 70's.

Re: C2D and Leslie 330 Proline
Isn't the 330 the one with the passive crossover? If that's the case you could power it by an external (tube) amp rather easliy. I guess that could be more rewarding than the 760 amp.

I live these little ss leslies. They sound great and are much more road worthy than a 145 because of tge tolex and grills. What did you pay for it??

$500! I need it for higher volume output on stage over what the 40w 145 offers live. Found it in a local buy swap sell called Gumtree AUSTRALIA, similar to Craig's List

Re: C2D and Leslie 330 Proline
I have finally received the go-ahead from my wife (it's a pretty big purchase, not one I'd make on a whim) to order up the 330's son, a 3300. It may give me a harder time moving it than the Pro3x-and-bottom but will be a lot better.

Re: C2D and Leslie 330 Proline
And have bottom end! The 330 doesn't have much, and about the third of the output vol of the 3300. I'm jealous.
Just got an 815 which kicks butt. Enjoy your new baby!
