Hi
I have a C1, I currenly use both the Yamaha FC7 and the Nord swell pedal (Fatar-mounted on pedalkeys 27) but the lower range is always too high (=25); both the pedals uses a 10KOhm pot
Have you some suggestion to me?
The Beheringer FCV 100 uses a 50 KOhm pot...is it better?
Thank you

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
What do you mean with "lower =25"? Have you checked the Sweel Pedal Type settings, as explained in the C1 manual?
ADJUSTING THE SWELL PEDAL SPAN
As expression pedals from different manufacturers have various span characteristics, you can select span preset in the System Menu.
1 Press SHIFT + SYSTEM to enter the System Menu
2 Navigate with the PAGE/MENU buttons to page 9
3 Change setting
Press SHIFT + PAGE/MENU buttons to change setting.
If the manufacturer of your pedal is not listed above, you can try operating the pedal to it’s end positions. The pedal range is briefly shown in the DISPLAY as a value between 0 and 100. Select the setting that best match the range of your
FA Fatar
ER Ernie Ball
YA Yamaha
RO Roland
PS: just in case, are you sure you are not confusing the fact that the Swell never turns the volume to 0 (same behaviour as the swell pedal in a real organ)?

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
Thank you for the answer!
Yes I know...I have an Hammond A122S
I've tried all the configurations on C1, but the range 25 to 100 is too thin
the real one decrease the volume more than C1
the loudness at the minimum volume is well represented but the range is not the same...
If you have some other ideas...

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
Sorry..
the value on the C1 display is 0 to 100 but the minimum to my ear is too loud...
It may be it's a problem of personal taste..but the minimum volume too high, the short range of swell pedal are a limit to expression
Anyone know any LONG-LONG throw exp pedal?
Has anyone tried Beheringer FCV 100? or some optical exp-ped?
Bye

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
A Long Throw pedal is available from Crumar and works fine with the Nords, but that will not solve the fact that the minimum volume (when Swell is at 0 on the display) is still too loud for you, because that is determined by the C1 engine, not the pedal.
Maybe you should look for an external stereo Volume pedal (such as the Boss FV500L) and use it instead of (or as an addition to) the Swell (expression) pedal. It is not the same but in that way you can fully control the output volume

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
I think what the OP are asking for, are a expression pedal that have a larger range in the low volume area ?
The FC 7 have an adjustable spring that you can try to adjust. It would not change min/max value, but you can try to adjust the minimum volume on your output volume to your taste with volume pedal in up position, then adjust the pedal so you are getting mechanical resistance at the right point.
The C1 are trying to emulate a real console ( and are doing it pretty well for its clone age), so next step are to work on the drawbars and find the mix.
I have the FC7 and a Crumar long throw, I prefer the FC 7.
Here's how it should sound like

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
Hello guys, any idea why volume pedal won't work on my C1? It works usually (on C1 works if I connect it as a sustain/rotary switch) and the cable is fine too. My volume pedal is Proel (not shure which model - probably PVP 12)

Re: Best swell pedal for C1
Do you mean a Volume or Expression pedal? They are different things.
The volumen pedal (only) attenuates the output signal (so you connect the output to the pedal IN and another cable from the pedal OUT to the amp). The expression pedal can be used to attenuate volume (or other things) via the expression connector.
