Just loaded up the ambient set into my Stage 3 by deleting loads of stuff I never use. (Had to delete a LOT!)
Well worth it though, as they sound stunningly real! Highly useable for the musical theatre stuff I'm doing at the moment.
Also perfect for that 70's disco strings lead sound such as in 'I Will Survive'!!

So - these don’t load in sound manager for NP3 correct? Or am I missing something? They sound great online and I wanted to use them instead of the samples the NP3 comes with for strings. No luck. If I missed something just let me know. Thanks!!

You need to use the 2.0 library for the NP3.

I guess like in front of a symphonic orchestra, not inside as a musician, I guess :-)

Here's a graphic and a link to an article that talks about the different ways that orchestras place instruments.

Yep -- if you're the audience or conductor in front, the basses are to the right.

In some places like the DR Koncerthuset you can also sit behind and a little above the orchestra, which creates a somewhat different soundscape.

But I guess it's the same discussion on panning between listening to a drummer and being a drummer :-)

BTW: The link you shared does not work in Europe; we're banned from reading it...

How about this link? It's from a blog post based upon the article or vice versa:
