Looks like the first piano sound which does not support the E3 and E4 has arrived. I guess it was bound to happen someday.
Has anyone who has noticed issues when using previous AP sounds with a single speaker tried this one yet with a single speaker?

Loaded and tried the new grand XL on my E5D. Definitely a keeper for jazz/cocktail bar style performances. Tried it with a Curv 500 stereo. Nice. But I wonder how it will sound with a pair of RCF TT08 A II I’m currently lurking for.

I only tested White Grand with headphone and I think that this piano has a lot of character.
But I have a little bemol: I ear a lot of string sounds in background especially on low-middle part of the keyboard.
This strings sound makes the great character of this piano, but when many notes are resonating at the same time the sound can be confusing.
I think Royal Grand, Imperial and Lady D are more precise.
However, upper range of White Grand sounds beautiful.

Did someone compare White grand sound with headphone and speakers?

I agree 100% with you toniolito, i didn't noticed this at the first time. But still my favourite by far, love that Steinway B !

Yes, I've tried it with using the mono button and two speakers and with a single speaker (JBL 305p MKII and Bose S1 Pro) with the mono button on/off with outputs 1 & 2. Using Room 1 Reverb set to 2.1. String Resonance on. Everything else off.

To me the White Grand mono sounds more similar to its stereo output than the other pianos I use. Very nice, and it's what I would use with a single S1 Pro (on a pole) for amplification for a piano-only gig. It sounds and feels like a real piano, vs. a mono-amped piano.

I currently have XL versions of the White, Imperial, Royal 3D, Bright and Silver. In comparison, the Silver is my second favorite, then the Royal 3D and Bright (the Bright never sounds like a real piano to me, but works in mono and for live with my band). I'm not a fan of the Imperial in mono. The same goes for running two speakers in mono with the mono button on.

Now, I can't tell if recent OS updates have the pianos sounding better (in Stereo and Mono), if it's my recent conversion to XL versions of the pianos, or if it's because I'm now using Room 1 reverb instead of Stage 1 reverb when playing pianos by themselves. Whatever it is, I feel like I'm playing a new instrument and hearing different characteristics.

love love love this new piano. ticks all the boxes. beautiful tone played light and shines through big time when pounded.

on a side note, from shuffling my pianos around to get this XL beauty on board, I also just rediscovered how much I love the bambino Spinet.

thanks Nord

Some of you are playing the piano sounds in mono. Why? what advantages are there?
