At least from the description, it says: "The Velvet Grand is a large concert Grand (280 cm - 9’2”) of German heritage with a remarkably rich, soft and soulful tone" and the filename is called something with "Model1" so that's maybe a good guess as to what it is. I don't remember what the INFO button tells; maybe it gives a clue too?23skidoo wrote:I could have sworn one of the stock pianos (Velvet?) was already a Bluthner Model 1...Siriosys wrote:Of course that doesn't mean to say I don't have a wishlist either - top of which would be a Bluthner Model 1.

Maybe my head was too much listening instead of my ears. ............. you know what my next problem is going to be........... no storage space to have the 3D, Bosendorfer, Steinway, and now the Bluthner!!!!................. AAGGGHHH........ I need to upgrade........ and Nord just so happens to release a "piano" with a decent action onboard......... ..... anybody need a Kidney?

Maybe you just need to apply the equivalent of the "Konmari" method (by Marie Kondo) to your piano samplesSiriosys wrote:Thanks Gents, I'll have a good look around. But of course a new board with more memory is always a nice opportunity to upgrade...

Re: White Grand?
.........hahaha........... maybe I just need to apply the "Konman" method to everything else in my life, and then I can have as many samples as I "need" in my instrument because it would bring me more joy. :p

Re: White Grand?
The Velvet is a Bluthner...what about a Bechstein? For good old Freddie Mercury, that was his board of choice. Plus Bechstein is a pretty big name:

They could do a Grotrian-Steinweg too - I know the Amber is there but that's an upright.

Re: White Grand?
Gambold,
2 great options there!
Modartt recently released a physically modelled C Bechstein for their Pianoteq library and it's not too bad - https://www.pianoteq.com/bechstein
Although I still prefer the Nord pianos over the Pianoteq in a live context as there's no need for additional hardware.

Re: White Grand?
I wonder whether “Soft White” might refer to a filter, rather than a distinct sample...

Re: White Grand?
The White Grand sounds very bold and cutting from that short sample. Would probably go well in a mix

Re: White Grand?
Maybe they modeled Lennon's Steinway. Now THAT would be grand.
