Your insistence on characterizing the US warranty as "verbal" when it clearly is more than that (it's published/printed on the AMS website, as has been said many times to you... I found it in less than 20 seconds) is frankly off-putting.

As for your decision to (casually) purchase on the opposite seaboard, 2000+ miles away, rather than nearer to you, as others have said, that's not on Nord, nor that reseller. Myself, I chose to support my local dealer, local taxes and all... someone I knew personally. I had to special order, and it took weeks to arrive at the store, but I wanted to audition the VERY instrument I was paying for... and I held the right to terminate the transaction before the purchase was finalized, if it wasn't what I expected. The warranty was clearly discussed, face-to-face, before I made my decision. (Truth be told, they also offered an extended in-store warranty for an upcharge, but I felt it wasn't necessary.)

Anyway, these things happen, your misfortune could have easily happened to me. My point is, I took steps to maximize my chances at a successful transaction. That's applicable to EVERY music instrument manufacturer/retailer.

Yes, but every other Instrument Manufacturer supplies a written Warranty included with all the Documents that come with the Instrument. Regardless of Country of Manufacture. It's so common it's expected. But, Nord doesn't?

When I got to their Websites & search for Warranty I find nothing. When I go their Website this is what I find. http://www.americanmusicandsound.com/search

I order my Cars & Trucks from the Factory & have for many years. I expect them to arrive in brand new perfect condition. Generally they always have been. In the event something needed to be addressed the written Warranty spelled out exactly what the Terms & Conditions were.

I have a new Car ordered from Japan & when it is delivered to me it will have a written Warranty. I don't have to ask, search or go to a Forum & get berated trying to find it. It's rediculous.

I've also purchased 40-50 Guitars, as well as a lot of other Gear, (Amps, Recording Gear etc) Online over the years from various Companies all over the Country. All of it came with a written Warranty. Regardless of what Country Manufactured it. I've never had to go thru this hassle. Ever.

I expected no less from this Nord Keyboard I ordered from a major New York Retailer.

I paid for & expected a brand new Keyboard in perfect working order. That is what I should've received. I didn't, thru no fault of my own. My actions were in total Good Faith. I expected the same from them & Nord.

At this point I'm dissatisfied.

Is the problem that the half-moon switch doesn't function properly when plugged in to the Rotor Pedal jack? I don't use a half moon switch, I use my sustain pedal, plugged in to the Sustain Pedal jack. The Sustain Pedal Mode in the System menu can be set to "Sus + Rotor Toggle". I actually find this more convenient than taking one hand off the keys to toggle the rotor. Might be interesting to try this setting, then compare the behaviour of a switch plugged in to the Sustain Pedal jack to when it's plugged in to the Rotor Pedal jack. This could isolate the rotor pedal jack as the culprit (if that hasn't already been established).

I use my Sustain Pedal to handle the rotor too. Very nice feature.

Lucky since you didn't like my last picture here's another one for you - straight from AMS Website, the US Distributor for Nord, totally clear and even with a phone #. It may not be the answer you want, but it is the definitive answer.

You can verify for yourself at https://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-NOR-NSTAGE388, scroll to the bottom of the page.

The real issue here is you are not accepting the fact that that the US warranty is only one year, not that you can't find proof of said warranty. You're tilting at windmills if you think you're going to change this fact. You are not going to get anything different in writing from Nord, like it or not this is how they do business. Personally I am fine with this - I did the proper research before I made my purchase, I never make any assumptions before making such a large purchase.

With respect, DH

It's a better picture but The Link takes me to American Musical Supply? I see it way down at the bottom in fine print! However when I did a Search for Warranty on Nord & AmericanMusical Websites it says nothing found?

If it's a year, it's a year. I just want it in writing. Funny you have to go to American Musical to find it? Or is it their Warranty?

I've tried the Sustain Pedal already. Doesn't work for the Rotary function on mine.

I’m not entirely sure, but I believe the issue is that Clavia/Nord do not actually provide a warranty in the United States, because they don’t have a North American branch that could do so (contrast with Roland, Yamaha, Technics, etc. — these all have U.S. subsidiaries).

Instead, they have contracted their distributor, to provide a one-year warranty to their American customers.

I imagine that, with different legal requirements for warranties across continents, this is the only way for a tiny manufacturer like Clavia to offer what big multinationals would call a “worldwide, one-year limited warranty”.

That’s speculation though, but based upon eight years in electronics retail.

So the problem's not at the rotor pedal jack, because the problem is also present when you plug a sustain pedal into the sustain pedal jack (and change the sustain pedal setting). Mate, I have to say, you don't give a lot of actual feedback, but let's assume that's all true (including the advice you were given by earlier posters about turning the leslie effect on). Does the rotor spin when you push the front panel button? (fast / slow / stop)

Lucky created a troubleshooting thread on his issue ten days ago:

This thread is just a follow-up.

The problem isn't my explanation. It's that some of you are interpreting whatever you want & haven't read my Posts.

If you read my Posts the say, I was instructed by Nord Customer Service to try the Sustain Pedal in the Rotary Jack. I did. It didn't work either. I also had already tried a 2nd new Nord Half Moon Switch which didn't work either.

The Sustain Pedal works fine in the Sustain Pedal Jack...

Also, I can manually get fast, slow, stop Vibrato FX from the keyboard buttons..
