Ahem, so is my single cask Ardbeg. I'm not about to pour that down the drain.

Yes, if you’re counting from initial rollout date. I was referring to Service Pack 3 (the last major release), copyrighted 2007. At the end of XP’s life, SP3 was all MS supported anyway.

Re: Warning: Nord Sound Manager does not run in 32 bit syste
Sure, it is an old OS, yet Clavia provides the USB driver and the sample editor with compatibility for Win32. Really, for them to compile with a different flag makes no substantial difference, and for the user, the improvement to run 64bit code is most likely negligible as the sound manager is not a high performance application.
Not that it matters, but I know lots of people which are still using laptops with XP (and older!) for single tasks like this, not connected to the net, but running expensive laboratory equipment that has never been updated from the manufacturer to run on up to date OSs. A sad consequence of built-in obsolescence.
Another example: if running linux with no interest or need for other win software, it is convenient to create a virtual machine to run an existing XP or Win7 license without having to shell for a new win10, just for the sound manager.

Oh yes, I'm well aware. I ran the linux vm method you describe in order to use some ham radio software back in the day. But you gotta admit, it's good to joke a bit about too... I certainly don't remember Windows XP with *any* fondness at all!

There is a difference between an 18-year-old single malt and an 18-year-old six pack of Coors.
I have a 30-year-old Mac SE in the basement that runs System 7.5.
Do you think it’s realistic to expect Nord software to support it?

If the other Nord programs and drivers were still supported, then perhaps yes. That is the issue here.

Re: Warning: Nord Sound Manager does not run in 32 bit syste
Did you ask Nord themselves? It is indeed rather strange that other Nord software and drivers are still available for 32 bit, and this would be the only exception. Plus they don't mention it in the update history going from v 7.32 to 7.40, or from 7.40 to 7.42, nor in the system requirements. Perhaps strictly they don't have to as all of the windows operating systems listed had/have 64 bit editions, but the majority of XP and Vista users had (I bet still have) 32 bit editions, in 2010 only half of Windows 7 installations were 64 bit (according to this story).

Since NS3, solving problems with updates every time create new problems .

Well, the latest sound manager 7.42 was created to enable back-porting of the EPv6 to the NS2, so it has nothing to do with the NS3... and in this case, it hasn't anything to do with "solving problems with updates" since it added new functionality to the 8 year old NS2 series, not trying to fix a problem. Something I guess a lot of people appreciate
On the 32-bit compatibility in general, I try to avoid using windows as much as possible, so I haven't tested the Sound Manager recently on windows. On the Mac, there is a similar issue, and there Apple seem to be on course to drop applications that are not native 64 bit. So if Nord wants to support both old and new OS's, they may have to release two versions (with the hassle of testing both and verifying they work, etc).
