Trim keys for waterfall-style keyboard

Hi guys!


I'd like to have your opinion on a thought I had these days. I dont see the reason for the little tip on my Electro HPs keys which make slides difficult.
Would it make sense to trim those tips off in order to get a waterfall-style keyboard? Has anyone tried something like this?

Its obviously not easy to get it really smooth and good looking, but lets say that can be done, does it make sense?

No ... my advice is to not try to modify your Electro that way. The HP mechanics is much stiffer than the organ feeling you probably are searching for ... so it will not be good IMHO.
Buy a second Electro or a MIDI controller that feels OK.

Im aware that trimming the tip of wont make it a waterfall keyboard, but I guess it might be closer to that without any downpoints concerning the playability.

Not really, the HP keybed is not really fit for hammond-style slides and not just because of the tip but of its overall mechanics.
(anyway slides are possible also as on a real piano, just slide with your palm on top of the keys and not on the edge/side as you would do in a waterfall, or use your fingers and not the palm)

It would also make your instrument impossible to sell at some later time. You probably spent a lot of money buying it - do you really want to make your Nord financially worthless?

Just don't.... Buy a cheap midi keyboard for playing the slideable parts (organ).
