Hello,
On acoustic grand and upright pianos, I can hear that the soft release feature makes the sound release a bit longer especially in the lower range notes, as indicated in the Electro 6 user manual.
I've just tried the soft release feature on electric pianos (e.g. EP1 v6.1, EP3 v6.1 ...), and I hear the opposite i.e. the sound release is shorter !
An electric piano has naturally a long release sound so maybe this behavior is intended.
In this case, the documentation is somewhat misleading.
Do you guys hear the same thing on your keyboard ?

I have not checked that but rather than relying on hearing I'd suggest you to do a more scientific test, by recording a MIDI File with just a few notes (so that it is repeteable) and enough silence between, playing it back to NE6 and recording the result of 2 cases (with and without Soft Release) on a DAW (or just Audacity) and then comparing the 2 waveforms.

Re: Soft / Long Release for Electric Piano vs Acoustic Piano
I will do that for my Electro 6.
But the sound difference is clearly noticeable in the lower range.
And I was interested to know if this can be heard on different keyboards (Stage, Piano) and different keyboard versions (Electro 5, Electro 4...).
