Hey guys I am pretty new here, just got my Nord Piano 5 and I am trying to use an interface to record and play over at the same time.
I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface and I am plugging it directly into my iPad Air 2020.
The Nord is connected to the two main inputs (stereo), the main problem I have is that I can't control the audio output from my iPad to the interface.
If I change the volume inside Spotify, for example, it doesn't lower the volume sent to the interface.
The sound from my iPad is much louder than the sound coming from the Nord (if I go louder, it just starts clipping).
As I am connecting headphones to the interface to listen to both the ipad and the Nord, the interface headphone volume button controls both, so I can't really balance it out there.
Is there a way I could control the output volume send to the interface from the Ipad?
I know is more an Ipad related question, but it would really be helpful if someone had/fixed a similar problem!
Thank you very much

Re: Recording and playing over
On the Scarlett itself, turn down the USB volume (the signal coming from the iPad, small knob at upper right) and turn UP the monitor volume (which pushes the signal that comes in through the inputs - i.e. the Nord - right back to the outputs).
One problem is that both inputs are panned to the middle by default — I don't see a way to pan input 1 to the left, and input 2 to the right, on iPad.
This is not ideal since the Nord's samples and pianos are all made for stereo, but it should at least work.

The Nord giveth; the Nord taketh away…

Re: Recording and playing over
Yeah, so I am just using headphones, so I am not routing anything to the monitor's output. Any other suggestions?
Regarding the stereo, in garage band I can regulate that I think.
