Yes, this was the first thing I noticed on their website when looking for any files for my new NP5. It doesn’t give the impression of being well maintained.

I’ve loaded most of the V6 samples also into my Stage 3 without any audible difference.

None of this is surprising to me. We often think that these companies have giant staff, working in big buildings with big budgets and even bigger levels of competency. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if the staff is small, and the people who maintain the site are not in contact with the people tweaking the sounds. Or maybe the sound folks contacted the website people but the email was overlooked. Nothing would surprise me anymore. The website "people" might be one guy in his parents' basement who can barely manage to get out of bed before sunset. Not trying to be harsh, but in my line of work (I own a small technology services company with 8 employees) I have seen the quality of work at other companies we deal with go through the floor and well into the ground. It's hard to find good people, and even harder to get anyone to care about anything! Looking forward to that pendulum swinging back the other direction and hopefully soon.

>None of this is surprising to me.<

Given Nord's status in the industry, its roster of musicians, its product line, its price points, and its long history as a (the) premiere digital keyboard manufacturer - I'm surprised. Especially because the actual person-time to update the samples on the site can be counted in minutes.

Don’t get me wrong. I find it to be completely ridiculous and unacceptable. I’m just no longer surprised when companies don’t do what appear to be such obvious and easy things. Hopefully things will improve as Covid fades into the distance.

For who's wondering how big the company is, Nord is about 35-40 people.

Nice to talk to you again! The short answer for this is that we are aware of the fact that some of the Piano 5 content, which was modified/updated in various steps, is not yet up in the regular Libraries - we’re sorry for any inconvenience around this and make a note to make sure all content is in sync across backup archives and the website. As usual we can’t give exact info on when it will be done, but many thanks for notifying, and feel free get back with any additional queries around this.

I tried calling - got a voicemail. I just sent an email and got a robo-response saying they will respond soon. Stay tuned.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm trying to think of reasons why this is the way it is. The two different Restore archives seems an outright blunder. But maybe they are holding back the sample updates from the site o they can release them with lots of fanfare when they release a new board later this spring, or at NAMM?

Could be. Or maybe they are making changes targeted at NP5 new features only (or mainly) and they want to consolidate them before distributing on the official Library, maybe also to have time for some OS updates for other models to fully support them (?)

The wurli samples are the problem. Those are just like the enhanced Rhodes samples that were released a few years ago…I can’t think of any reason to hold those back. The current two public wurli files are 10 and 12 years old and frankly are pretty weak.
