nord sound

Hi Guy, maybe you can help me out. I have a NORD paino 3, but i find the grand and some upright piano sounds very woody not bright at all, very dull. I have to tweak on the EQ a lot (f.e. cut the mid) to get a desire sound, is this normal?

No, not normal.

What are you listening through? Headphones? Something else?
I think I have gear issues ....

Normal. I also crank up the highs always a little bit on the Nord Pianos and EP's.

It depends on the samples you are playing and what you are listening through. Some of the pianos can be quite cutting.
Which samples do you have loaded in the piano?
What is the sound system you play through?

Well, I don't. But then again, I play through decent amplification :)
