Nord Music Stand EX or V2 - what is the difference?
Hi,
I am looking for the Nord Music Stand and found two versions in one of the big German music shops:
Nord Music Stand EX
Nord Music Stand V2
Both are at the same price and look quite identical in terms of pictures and dimensions. Does anyone know what the difference is between these two models?

I own an E4, with the original music stand. A colleague loaned me their S3 a couple of months back, including the new version of the stand.
The only difference I observed was, the neoprene strip on the bottom no longer has small cutouts for the rivets.
The two stands are otherwise identical in dimensions and weight, and completely interchangeable.

I see, thanks! For what are the cutouts of the neoprene Strip good of, and which version has it - the old or the new one?

The new one is cutout-free. The (old version) cutouts are smaller than the diameter of a pencil eraser, to accommodate the slight height difference in the rivets.
Oddly enough, there’s no “rivet bump” underneath the new full strip of neoprene, so maybe they engineered a new attachment method...?
Honestly, it’s of no practical difference in actual use.

Ok thanks! Seems as if it doesn’t matter which one to choose

Am I the only one who finds built in stands to be a bit on the low side?

They are certainly lower than a typical music stand. This is only a problem for me on the rare occasion I need to attach a light to the stand or pin down the sheet music on a windy day.
I’ve solved these problems by scanning all my charts to forScore on my iPad.

Re: Nord Music Stand EX or V2 - what is the difference?
Given the width (four letter pages wide), the reduction in height may have been a weight-saving move. Or maybe they wanted it to fit nicely into the bespoke case's accessory pocket. Or both.someclevername wrote:Am I the only one who finds built in stands to be a bit on the low side?
(Like Rusty Mike, I use an iPad Pro almost exclusively. But loose sheets stand up fine, so long as it's not too humid and/or breezy.)
