Re: No new samples?
I still happen to have the full set of EMU III cd's, a few ilio cd's, and an ESI 2000. If only I had working & compatible SCSII CD-ROM drive, or a Jazz drive that didn't put extra grooves in things....

Re: No new samples?
The original Emulator source samples are around on the internet. Simple enough to turn them into Nord samples yourself…
The Nord giveth; the Nord taketh away…

Re: No new samples?
Getting at the samples is indeed easy enough. The EMU hardware has a warmth all of its own though, so I would want to capture that as well. I will get to it eventually

Don't hold your breath, Roland is holding those very close - pushing the Roland Cloud with the D50 and others, I'm sure JD800 is coming too.

I don’t know anything about the Emu samplers, and there are a couple of different used models offered in the bay. Which Emu model would you recommend to get the full taste of the free samples?

Re: No new samples?
It depends on how much you want to pay. I would certainly suggest getting one the later models, least an ESI-2000 / 4000 or newer.
The real problem can be reading the CD / ZIP / Jazz disks the samples are on. For me, that is just the 'entertainment' of using old equipment though.
And then after going to all that effort, you need to re-sample them through good pre-amps - not just a cheap USB sound card.
