Re: How to change the Category of a sample
Try holding Shift and press Store As button once. The Store button indicator starts flashing and the category can then be changed using the value dial (Page 17 of the Stage 2EX manual). What I havent figured out yest is how to add new categories yet. Its bound to be in the manual but I havent read that far yet!

Re: How to change the Category of a sample
That is strange. Some sounds in the library have categories such as "Ens Wind / Brass", which I dont have on my Stage 2EX. So when I upload these sounds, I am having to select from a short list of categories that do not accurately describe the sound.

Re: How to change the Category of a sample
Not strange at all. The website, given that it is designed to be viewed on computers which have virtually unlimited amounts of screen space and flexibility, will organize things into a great many more categories with much longer names and much greater specificity than what is practical on the instrument.
That said, I agree that it would be very cool to be able to have more user-defined categories, but as a practical matter after having played NS2 for many years and now NS2EX, I have to say that I have had only minimal occasion to ever notice or care which category label might be attached to any given sample. Trivial and virtually meaningless detail most of the time, I'm more concerned with the number for purposes of dialing it in when needed. That said, I have learned over time that there is a very wide variety of users with a very wide variety of musical desires, tastes and requirements. Perhaps yours are different from mine, and I'm curious to learn more about them...

Re: How to change the Category of a sample
Yes, I think you're right Pablo. On thinking about it, it's just a mindset I need to change. I'm a newbie and was trying to keep rigidly to what I incorrectly saw as a strict naming convention with a logic behind what kind of sounds are grouped into a category, a page and a bank. Maybe things aren't as structured as I thought, which is OK, because it means that I can rearrange the programmes within pages and banks to suit my way of thinking. So, as you say, category labels are not so important.
Thanks Pablo

Re: How to change the Category of a sample
Hi williehackitt. Perhaps check in the NSEX which piano sample is the one you like (go through all the piano models in the piano section, it increments the sample number in the red LED display each time you change it and it shows briefly in the LCD display which one it is selected. Make a note of the sample you want to transfer to the 5D.
Then go to the Clavia site, http://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-libr ... no-library download that sample (first check if is in the DVD that comes with the Nords), and finally upload it to your 5D with the sound manager program.
Maybe there is a simpler way, not sure.

Re: How to change the Category of a sample
Holding SHIFT and STORE AS seems to allow you to change the category of a program but not the category of a sample.
Is there a way to change the category of a sample?
