First Nord, mainly for sound Lib (mello etc) but weighted

This is the right place if your topic concerns different Nord Keyboards, you are not sure which one is the right one for you, etc.

Yeap. I cant stand making music with screens in front of me. Otherwise m3000 and korg module app would be great i guess (i have an ipad)
I could still midi something from the ipad to layer sound with the nord sound but i wont use it beyond that.

So yes. I want the instant, instrument connection. Thats why i also decided against waterfall keys. Need to feel the instrument

No i dont :D

I guess its E5 or cheap out on Nord Wave wich i still dont really understand.

But the sound coming out of any new clavia vs old like the wave, using the same samples should be the same quality, just as velocity (amp) etc!?

Yes, based on what you wrote I don't think you should include the Wave in your shortlist of choices (no Piano engine i.e. no Clavinets, for example), but based on your budget you should go for the NE3-5/NP2(or even NS2) that best fit your minimum needs and $

Ok one for now last question... About the keybed differences

I do want some resistance similar to a real instrument with wooden keys. I try to be closer to the feel i had on my m400 mellotron.
I am however not at all a pianist. I just want a good real feeliong under my finger tips and ability to play expressive dynamically (again not acoustic piano!)

Is the HP action actually worth the extra cash for me?

If the waterfall SW action is far enough away and has a lot better, more resistant, robust feel than a Synthesizer Keyboard it might fit my search.
Cant try any right now sadly.

Can you describe the SW and HP in Detail in this context?

Well neither action feels like a Mellotron, at least based on my memories of having played one on the 70s. But I'd say that the SW, which is pretty highly sprung as SW boards go, is much more "mellotron-like" than, say, the Wave would be. I think I'd also suggest the SW over the HP, as the mellotron keys were (AFAIK) basically simple levers and had nothing like any kind of hammer mechanism which imparts its own feel (and in digitals, often a very un-mellotron like slight key bounce on release). The SW also offers notably more initial resistance than the other options, which is probably more Mellotron-like as well.

So yeah, don't expect it to feel just like a Mellotron, but for your purposes, I'd say the SW action is the best of the bunch.

Wow thanks!!! Thats what i needed to know and came to think about.

Didnt know about the stronger "initial resistance" wich is totaly the main Point for me.

Thanks you saved me a headache and cash i guess and i prefer 61 keys and drawbars anyway. HAPPY NOW
