Hello,
This question may look strange, but not at all: I have a Korg Kronos 2. And some old but still efficient hardware samplers. Coming from my previous set too, I have a master keyboard Fatar StudioLgic SL-880.
But this one has to be repaired, same as usal, problem of rubbers, those parts are discontinued from Fatar and are impossible to find.
Thinking of replacing it, my idea suddenly was why a master keyboard only and not a whole synth if it's not too expensive?
My needs are still the same: a 88 touch-dynamic weighted keys as the Fatar's feeling.
When I've bought my Kronos (no regrets, really), I was really hesitating between those two brands.
Of course, a Nord is easier to move especially when you're more than ... some years old!
What do you think of it and what to choose?
I live in center of France (Auvergne).
Thanks for your help.
Happy new year!
François

Re: Buying a secod hand keybord?
Yes, I know. But on which models do I retrieve the exact same feeling? That is a part of the question.
Re: Buying a second hand keybord?
I think I have seen a question like this before. The best way to find out, is to go to a store and try it yourself.

Re: Buying a second hand keybord?
Yep, the HA and HP actions differ greatly, and depending on what you're looking for may also differ across models (NP3/4 versus NS2 versus NS3, 76 versus 88, etc). In a sense the Fatar actions are always changing (even from Fatar, for the same part number, depending on year, manufacturer preferences, and other details). You really cannot say that just because they are both TP100s (for instance) that they will feel exactly the same. You really just need to play them yourself and decide if it's "the same" by your own definition. Keyboard feeling is a subject of intense difference on this forum (and that's just between Nord variants!), let alone across manufacturers.

The keyboard actions available on Nord 88s are HA (Stage models) and the triple sensor action on the Nord Piano. Older Piano models I think may have the HA action though.
The HP variant is only available on the 76 and 73 key Nords.
Nord Stage 2 HA76, Korg Triton Extreme 61, Roland XP80, Yamaha P140, Yamaha PSR2000 , 2 x Yamaha DXR10, Roland KC150, Toa D3 line mixer, Quiklok 2 tier X stand.

Re: Buying a second hand keybord?
I agree of course to test the keyboard before to buy it. Maybe it one of the reasons why I've choosed ... a Kronos.
But in addition, I want a second hand 88 keys only with the action nearest possible as a piano.
When you play also classical (or boogie...), you need that and I missed it!
Now, it will depends of what I will find, Lead, Stage ?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Buying a second hand keybord?
If you want 88 keys as close as possible to a Piano why not consider the Nord Piano since that's, uh, what it's for?

Re: Buying a second hand keybord?
You may consider a Yamaha CP4.
It's the same weight as the 88-key Nords, and it has just been discontinued so you can find it cheap (used or even new, if some shops still have stock to clear).
Most importantly, it's considered by many the best portable piano action available.

Maybe a Nord Stage 2 EX 88 second hand. Price OK, very good state ...
