I’ve been carrying one in the pouch on the back of the 73 soft case for a decade now - along with power cable, stereo cable, and an FC5 footswitch.

Yes, it fits (if the pouch on the 61 is the same as on the 73).

Measure the pocket and compare to the FC7 sizes, 116 × 58 × 250 mm as specified in its manual https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/o ... _om_b0.pdf

FC7 is a bit heavy for that pouch imho, I only put a FC5, power and audio cables in it.

It all depends on how long you want your case to last. Extra weight will stress any case's fabric and stitching over time, and shorten its life. Even an ounce here or there adds up (speaking as an amateur hiker).

My Nord softcase's outer pocket only carries the legs and music rack. Everything else - cables, pedals, etc. - goes into a generic backpack.

Btw.... is it also at your bag, that the zipper seems to be upside down?
So it opens up if you move the zipper to the top?

Yep. Same on the 73 softbag. Both on the one from 2007, and the one from 2014.
