I use the LUCAS Smart for my Electro 3 HP, like it a lot for the piano and epiano sounds, and its just ok for organ sounds.
But I have a Hammond XK3c as well so I mostly use the Electro3 HP for piano anyway

The Lucas is loud enough for small venues and clubs, still its light and very easy to carry around, I got the optional
carrybags with wheels. It has a 250 W sub and 2x80 W speakers.

I have a Fender SFX200 - not the best sound when turned up loud but its what I have, so at a gig I like to go through the house board. Question: The SFX200 has three channels each with right and left inputs, and a master section with right and left outputs. If I connect the outputs to the PA and use the amp as my monitor is that just as good as having a DI box or should I be using a box? (Don't really know what they do or why I might need it). If I should use DI box, should it be NS2 to the box, and from the box out to the amp and PA seperately, or can I go NS2 to the amp, and then run from the amp's master outputs to the DI box, and from there to the PA? How many and what kind of DI box? In all cases can I run stereo? I also have the option of assigning the piano to 1&2 and organ to 3&4 so I can mix and control levels differently. Thanks!

Sound engineers often prefer to use DI boxes for two main reasons:

1. Some amps put out too much level for mixing desks and the DI box reduces the level to something more appropriate.

2. To prevent or eliminate ground loops which can produce lots of hum.

However, many mixing boards these days, especially those designed for amateur or semi-pro situations are often able to accept the output of your amp as it is.

The bottom line is, if plugging your amp directly into the house board works ok, then just carry on doing it, and if a sound engineer wants to use DI boxes instead, then let him do it that way instead.

If you do use DI boxes, then you would need two mono DI boxes (or one stereo DI box) if you're using stereo.

The best place to DI in your case would be from the output of the Stage 2, before the amp. You can then turn your amp up and down on stage without affecting the level going to the mixing board - sound engineers don't appreciate you changing their levels all over the place!

This is assuming you're only using one keyboard, the Stage 2. If you use more than one keyboard,then things would be a little different.

Using a kp 500 sn. Also had a stage pas 500. I think quality for AP's is equally as good in both. Organ: Hammond sv1 is vey nice with a ventilator out of the motion sound amp.

I've been using an EV112P 1000 watt self powered amp and it has been fantastic. The piano sparkles and has plenty of low end and the organs are rich. Was using an Roland KC550 for the last 4 years but this is a definite sonic improvement. Plus I got mine for $479 online.

I am using a Mackie 14 channel board, SPX 90 and two Yamaha 250 m powered cabinets. I am not sure that I still like this set-up. I get a good sound at home, but find I cannot get the cabinets far enough away from me on the fantastic stages I get to play on!! I used to have
an old TOA keyboard amp. I was happy with it at the time. The search continues!! Cheers Michael

I have to totally agree with cutmyearoff.. I am currently playing thru an EV 112XP that is very nice. My NS2 piano and organs sound great. The bass is not boomy, the mids are not sqauwky (like some horns in my other amps) and the highs are not tinny sounding. I love the lighted EV on the front (corny but oh well)

At the moment I have the HK Audio Lucas Nano mini stereo PA System for testing and I am completely stunned. It's even smaller than the Smart and much cheaper too. It sounds incredible!! It really does wonders to the Rhodes and piano sounds of the Stage 2 and all other sounds of course.

I have two LD Stinger 102a – rather inexpensive speakers, but they do reproduce keyboard sounds pretty well, are powerful enough for most of my applications and they are pretty lightweight. Plus LD-Systems is a brand of Adam Hall and their German service department is top notch.

Downside: They only have XLR inputs, so adapter cables are needed. Apart from that I'm really happy with them.
