I am looking at the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro (80 ohm) but wasn’t sure if the impedance is too high to run straight to NP5. What headphones do you all use and what do you recommend? They make the BD DT 880 Pro in 32 ohm as well, but don’t seem as nice.

I rarely play with headphones right into the Stage 3. But as Nord headphone amps are reported to be low with power, I just checked with my BD DT 770 pro (80 Ohm). Cranked up volume and found it sufficient, but it didn't blow me away. So, there seems to be no margin left.

My older HIFI headphones (Sennheiser HD 555, 50 Ohm) seem to fit better.

I got mine before my S3 for my previous keyboard and they are Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 30 ohm. Because my previous board seemed to have low output I got the 30 ohm cans and they work fine and sound good with my S3.

Sennheiser HD 650 w/ Schiit Magni+ headphone amp.

I was previously using Oppo PM-3s, but the open-back Sennheisers are much more natural sounding.

Audio Technica M50x are great for their price range. They give out plenty of volume from the Nord's internal headphone amp.

I love my Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro - They are 250 ohm, but I have no problem using these with my Nord Stage 2, more than load enough for me.
Excellent sound, and you can wear them for hours without strain.

I also have more than enough dB's with my DT-770 250 ohm headphones, I wouldn't think 80 ohms is (too) high,

I use Sony MDR-7506 (closed, 63 Ohms) or AKG K121 Studio (semi-open, 55 Ohms)

You don’t have to use an amp to power those? You are running them straight out of the Nord Stage 2? I actually ordered those before I realized they were the 250 ohm instead of 80 ohm. I’m wondering if Nord Piano 5 can power those, or if I should just pick up an amp at this point. Or send back and pick up the 80 or 32 ohm models.

Never used an amp. Strait out of the Nord - More than enough power on my Nord Stage 2 and Nord Electro 6 HP.
