Stay Keyboard Stands - any experience?

Post by Schulti »

Hey,

does anyone have experience with the stands?

https://www.google.de/search?q=stay+key ... 4&bih=1014

Especially with the SLIM version in combination with a nord stage compact:

Thx!

I have had a red full-size one for a few months. Not the slim version. Great product, but always pros and cons.

Pros: very stable, very light, very adjustable, can hold 3 boards, very good-looking on stage, seems built to last, breaks down into a small and easy to carry form factor.

Cons: not enough vertical clearance underneath to conveniently place a volume pedal, takes a few extra minutes to assemble and break down vs. my SpiderPro, not sure how long the bright red finish is going to last. The slim version appears to use different support legs with more vertical clearance, so maybe not an issue with volume pedals.

Not sure about the mic boom.

Unless you're super fussy about volume pedal placement, I'd recommend it.

Yes, i will do this.

What do you think. For the slim model the manufacturer says max Load on one arm is 10kg. And the stand is suited for 61 keys.
Is the nord stage (3) compact to heavy?
Would you put yours on this stand?
Thx!

Nord says that the Stage 3 Compact weighs in at a svelte 10 Kg. I would have exactly zero concerns. The arm assemblies are actually much sturdier than they're saying -- just being conservative I guess.

I don't like a lot of space between my two boards, and the arms don't appear to extend, so it would be very difficult it seems for me to see my Nord Stage controls with this stand. On my Baby Spider, the bottom arms extend far so this is not a problem. Believe me, if I could get that stand to work, I would do it, weighing less than 10 pounds!

On my full-size Stay stand, the bottom arms are several inches longer than the upper ones. Not a problem -- for me at least -- to see all the knobs on the bottom board. But your needs and preferences might be different.

Agreed, that stand is nice. However, it weighs the same as my Baby Spider at 18 pounds. The Slim model is less than half of that, so I was interested in that one.
