Hi my dear nord users!
I do not fully understand why the pedal noise function is in Nord, if you can use it only with a triple pedal from Nord.
Recently I tried to play on my Nord Stage 3 with a triple pedal, and this greatly improves the sound quality of the pianos, but I do not fully understand why we are obliged to buy a triple pedal?
It takes up a lot of space underfoot, heavy, and expensive.
As the lucky owner of Nord Stage 3, I want to say that this is a great respect for Nord, that it remains the only one among all keyboard companies longing for profit that makes libraries and updates for free, I appreciate it!
But I would like to use pedal noise without a triple pedal!
Who thinks what?
Does everyone agree with me?
If yes, put the hashtag #pedalnoiseforall
If not, write why and what you think about it.
Let it be!

P.S:
I do not want to undermine the Nord business model, but does Nord really benefit from this?

Re: PETITION - PEDAL NOISE FOR ALL SUSTAIN PEDALS
Pedal noise depends upon how hard you kick the pedal, so it cannot work properly with regular pedals, which only know on/off.
It would be great if Clavia offered a compatible single pedal, or offered a setting to work with the Yamaha FC3 and similar products from other manufacturers.

Re: PETITION - PEDAL NOISE FOR ALL SUSTAIN PEDALS
Does Nord benefit from the current triple pedal? I have to assume yes or they wouldn’t do it.
I would love a Nord single sustain pedal that performs like the sustain in the triple pedal does.
I would also love it if the triple pedal was designed so the TRS cable was a male to male cable that connects to the female input on the Nord and another female input on the Nord pedal. I don’t like how the cord emanates from within the pedal itself. Just feels like a break waiting to happen. I know someone in the forum did a mod for that but I wouldn’t attempt it as I don’t trust my skills in that regard.
So bottom line - I’m ok with the triple as is. Very much a first world problem for me

Re: PETITION - PEDAL NOISE FOR ALL SUSTAIN PEDALS
I often came here to defend the owners and their desires.
But, the nord triple pedal, to me, is the most important technology from Nord. Ever!
I own a NS3C and I can't image playing piano without the Triple Pedal. I never seem any VST library with the feature of progressive and dynamic pedal noise as Nord have.
So, definately worth the price!

This is doable and makes some sense, it would behave just like the TP sustain so no changes required to the engine and OS/settings; but from Nord perspective it would dramatically reduce the sales of the Triple Pedal imho.
Also a change in the OS to use a standard (potentiometer) Continuous Sustain is probably possible, since the Sustain Pedal input actually is a TRS and can read different resistance values (when used with Triple Pedal), but from Nord perspective... see above.
PS: is Pedal Noise really so important or is it just "I feel frustrated because it is written there and I cannot use it"...?
I personally find it practically useless, particularly talking about playing live in a band and not so crucial also in a solo/duo situation.

If you think its so important, its probably worth the money.

I agree. I might be rounding out edges a little bit now, but I feel like you would just have a real piano if the authentic sound was so important that you needed pedal noise. If you are not playing a quiet solo to a picky, small crowd with excellent amplification and acoustic, its gonna be fine without pedal noise.

I would also say that a single pedal with noise would be a useful and necessary addition.
I mainly use my NS3C for recording and there these "authenticity additives" would be very pleasant (especially since it is practically already in the device).
My Kawai ES7 does have a single pedal with noise FX and it really enriches both sound and playing.

Re: PETITION - PEDAL NOISE FOR ALL SUSTAIN PEDALS
The technical possibilities have evolved since Nord came on the market. People demand things they didn't dream about 10 years before. That's what I think about your request. But there is a technical obstacle: The force of pressing the pedal must be measured somehow if you want realistic pedal noise.
And before I would want that any half damper pedal could get pedal noise by calculating the force over pedal changement time, I would highly appreciate support for any 3-sensor-MIDI-keyboards attached to my NS3C!!! More realistic key sounds is more important to me than pedal sounds. And what about MIDI 2.0-support? There is a lot of work for the developers at the moment.
Probably I would buy a single Nord sustain pedal if it supported pedal sound - but I've got the triple pedal in use already.

Having tried a Roland single pedal with my P3, my opinion is the pedal noise is incredibly important - most especially for recording, certainly for solo or duo live play and perhaps not as much in a full band. What seems like something that should be an imperceptible difference feels quite large when missing to my ears and removes a layer of realism that reduces the wow factor by at least 15% (in my non-scientific estimation).
