Squeezing every cent out of a Nord Music Stand V2
Hi everyone,
After much gnashing of teeth, I finally bit the bullet and spent the outrageous $120 Nord charges for the Music Stand V2. Have to say I love it, and I even found a way to make the extra-wide feature pay off: It makes the perfect holder for my Yamaha AG06 mixer/USB interface!

The price is only outrageous if you never use it.
I’ve had mine for eight years, and it pays for itself by saving me an extra trip to schlep a separate stand… for every single-board gig.

Ha! Good point.
I hesitated largely because of all the online complaints--about price, about height, even about finish--and because we have so many regular music stands lying around, most acquired for free (or as I prefer to put it, "liberated") from various schools of music. But now that I have one, I have zero regrets. Fits (and looks) great, loads of space, height is fine, and it's way more convenient than squeezing a regular stand behind the board in my cramped, cable-strewn space. And as a bonus, my dust cover even fits over it!

the music stand is definitely one of Clavia's hidden gems. Of course it's not a glamorous piece of kit, but it does its job pretty damn well, it's bigger than any other "portable" music stand, it takes no space on stage, it's bomb-proof, and you can use it with all past and present (and hopefully future) compatible Clavia keyboards.
When I switched from the Stage 2 HA88 to the 2EX Compact for portability reasons, what I missed the most was not the hammer action or the extra keys, but the music stand!

What about attaching a NORD music stand to your keyboard stand using any holder?Spider wrote:When I switched from the Stage 2 HA88 to the 2EX Compact for portability reasons, what I missed the most was not the hammer action or the extra keys, but the music stand!
I did the same for my NS2 SW73 ... see general-nord-forum-f29/electro-4-sw73-m ... tml#p70982
Note: The described holder is designed for the viewed NORD Stand Ex and BESPECO BP50XXL stand also.

Re: Squeezing every cent out of a Nord Music Stand V2
Nice!
As part of my upgrade (new stand, new monitors, new monitor stands), I'm also getting a new table-style keyboard stand. The x-stand I have is super stable and a treat to break down and set up, but it's driving me crazy: No space for the pedals, and I can't get close to the keyboard without having my knees hit the crossbars. I used to have a table stand, and always thought an x-stand would be nice. Sometimes the old ways are best.
