Mac OS Big Sur - compatibility

Postby catosim » 19 Nov 2020, 11:21

Hello

Has any of you installed the new Mac OS Big Sur, and if so: does the Nord Sound Manager work as normal?
I'm still running on OS Mojave (skipped Catalina), and was thinking that I might should run the Big Sur update.

Best regards Cato

I’ve decided to wait until all my music apps are certified. Sound Manager is 64-bit, so it should work in theory, but I don’t want to take any chances.

I also run a bunch of other apps: Cubase, Waves plug-ins, Kontakt, Band-In-A-Box, Arturia V Collection. Several of these companies advise waiting.

My MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) is not compatible to Big Sur, so that's out of question for me. But I read that Big Sur may brick some of the older 13" MacBook Pro models late 2013 and mid 2014, so I would carefully check if your Macbook could potentially be affected as well before updating. Hey guys, just bumping this to enquire how people's experiences are with the Clavia software and Big Sur?

I'm not seeing official compatibility yet, but I know some of you have upgraded already.

Is the software working okay? Particularly Sound Manager?

All Nord apps work like a charm, without the need to right-click to open or anything of the sort.

I upgraded my Electro from 5D 61 to Electro 6HP today. Mac OS Sur and Nord Sound Manager on my new Mac Mini M1 (Apple Silicon) works great !
