Re: K&M stand for two boards

Is the Baby Spider suitable for 88 key boards such as my NS2HA88 and a second board on top?
Doesn't the width of the 88 board make it tip over to the side to easily? The support arms seem to be pretty close together...

The arms do extend quite far, so the width should be fine for an NS2 HA88. The arms are angled, so the farther you extend them, the farther apart they are. You would need to purchase the extra set of arms for the top board as the Baby Spider only comes with one.

So, if you want two keyboards plus a mic and a music stand, you will have to go for the normal spider right? Because the baby Spider won't be tall enough, am I right?

My local music store was kind enough to order several K&M stands, so I was able to test them and make my choice.
Here's my report :)

So I was looking for a solid two tier stand: NS2 HA88 bottom and Roland D-10 top. It needs to be stable and suitable for frequent transport.
In the end I bought the 18953 along with the 18952 stacker and the 18955 carrying bag.

IMO It's very solid, relatively light weight and I like the looks of it. Also the second board is at the right position for me.

I really liked the 18810 'Omega' as well, but it's not as compact for transport as the 18953 (I need to go up and down two staircases at home for every rehearsal and gig).
The 18880 was a no go, because the position of the second board. It's to far over the first for me (and not ajustable). For a one board setup the 18880 might be a good choice, because is very light weight.

The Baby Spider looks awesome, but for me it just doesn't feel solid enough.
A four legs system like the Nord Stand EX (my previous stand) and the 18953 just gives me more assurance.

I have used my new stand for a few weeks now. So far like it a lot. The stand and the stacker fits nicely in the carrying bag. Hanging it over your shoulder keeps both hands free for other gear to carry.
I mounted the stacker a bit more backwards then the manual 'orders' to, so that I can just see all the NS2 HA88 controls and buttons. Maybe that could be a problem I you had a heavy second board. It may tip over to the back too easy. I use a Roland D-10 (MIDI out only) as a second board and that's no problem.

So at the moment I'm happy. We'll see if the stand and the bag is holding together the next few years.

K&M Omega Pro (18820)

Postby Elias » 08 Jun 2020, 19:28

Anyone who has experience with this one:
How sturdy is this?
How much does the foldability make it flimsier than the first Omega?
