If on a budget, I like the Sony 7506....under $100 in the US

I have to agree on these, had the M50, used them to death. Bought the M50X, even better with the replaceable cable.

My go to headphones for all my keys is Roland RH-200. Even better than the RH-300 which are considerably more expensive. I have tried numerous brands and prices. Nothing compares to my RH-200. I have 3 sets.

Hi, just a question about durability.

The current one I'm using (a low cost which came with some instrument a while ago) starts peeling off the plastic coating at the ears, raining black snippets everywhere.

A Sennheiser headset for the PC disintegrated its foam even more drastically after a few years. It became unusable, though electrically still intact.

Any recommendations under this aspect? I.e. how to have a headphone which still is mechanically intact after half a decade or so? (During my childhood this was normal, but today ......)

Yes that's annoying, but for most brands of headphones you can replace the pads. There is a category called "headphones earpads" at Thomann, with hundreds of products available.
