Re: Guitar amp for keyboards

I only ever (besides strict piano gigs, which I desperately try to avoid,) run my electro through guitar amps. I stick to organ, Rhodes, wurly and clav patches, and although I LOVE my Nord, I feel that it sounds brittle compared to the originals unless I push it through some tubes. I use it with a tube screamer, delays, wah, phase, and/or chorus, among others, so I assume I’m slamming the amp input pretty good. I love the tone and have never had any problems, other than I find that I have to replace the power tubes more frequently than a guitarist typically would (every 6 months or so). Cooler preamp tubes help mellow it out a bit. I like the ever-so-buttery SPAX7.
For what it’s worth, I use a Fender Blues Deluxe, and if I can afford the space and the struggle I run through two in stereo. The best sounding I’ve used is the Twin Reverb, but forget hauling two of those. Might as well bring a Leslie.
I can’t find much info on this on the web, so I hope my input can help someone out!

I had been using a two guitar amp stereo setup for my Electro 3 before and was actually quite happy with the sound - organ (with distortion ), electric pianos, even string samples - except for the acoustic piano. It sounded harsh and/or muddy.

I didn't want to play through our PA because I wanted to keep using the overdrive of the amps. I tried it nevertheless and it's just so much better. More powerful, more nuanced.

Now I'll have to buy an overdrive pedal. :?
