Can anyone recommend a sturdy, professional-grade, grounded multi-outlet extension cord (or even a surge protector) with an on/off footswitch? I would prefer one with 4 outlets, but 3 outlets would be acceptable. I'd like to be able to turn on several devices with a tap of my foot instead of having to reach down to switch them all on individually. There are several cheap extension cords on the market costing around $10-15 (and I have one of those), but they're flimsy and intended largely for Christmas lights and such. Also, the surge protectors I've found must all be operated by hand. Any ideas?

I’m not aware of such a device but I think you could also accomplish your objective using a broomstick to engage the power switch if it’s on the top of the strip (mine is). Good luck!

Aha! The helpful folks at Allied Electronics pointed me to a great footswitch. https://www.alliedelec.com/product/line ... /70183978/ You just need to add a power strip/surge protector with the desired number of outlets. I ordered one yesterday, it was delivered today, and I'm delighted. Now I can power up several different gadgets with a tap of my toe. The unit is substantially more robust than the $12 cheapie, made for Christmas lights, that I was using before.
