Hi Guys,
Either for those who are now in a digital board (Beringher XR16 or XR18 etc) and have access to tons of effects per channels and per buses or for those who are still using reliable analog board with outboard gear, do you:
1) Use a Compressor Bus on the Main Left/Right signal sent to FOH Speakers? Is it plugged as an insert on left and right main outputs?
2) Same question for Exciter/Enhancer (like the old Beringher EX3200 that works well for the 50$ I spend on it...)
Do you compress vocal on the vocals channels
Do you add Exciter/Enhancer on the vocals channels
Or finally, with the high quality speakers that we have now, from the first good quality/price ratio of the EV to the QSC and to the RCF high end, do you think that there is no more need for that kind of extra processing after the main bus or on specific channels?
Let me know how you work.
Sincerely

Re: Exciter/Enhancer & Bus Compressor
For the gigs where an FOH engineer is doing the sound: his job, his judgement.
For the gigs where we’re doing our own sound: compressing/exciting keyboards is the least of your sound problems.
