Difference between Organ Grinder and Tall&Fat

Postby Schorsch » 25 Dec 2019, 13:11

Hello, did anyone compare Lounsberry Pedal’s Organ Grinder and Tall&Fat? I am interested in knowing the differences, especially in terms of sound - is it significant or subtle when used for organ sounds?

The Organ Grinder gives you John Lord significance. The Tall & Fat converts your digital clonewheel into a subtle, warm, satisfying instrument.

So ideally, should the T&F slot in between between your keyboard and a Vent?

Or does it make that big a difference where in the chain it is (if you were still using your Nord's own Leslie)?

I will put it between the keyboard and the vent, it acts like a preamp if I’m correct. Don’t know how it sounds when using it with the internal rotary sim, but will try when I get the T&F and let you know how the difference is.

I'm planning to buy the Vent II for my C2 and to put the T&F and The Grinder too:
My chain will be:
1) C2
2) tall and fat
3) organ grinder
4) Vent II
5 Hall of fame

For me, it will be the ideal set up.... No use of the internal reverb, unless you use it as an special effect and not as a reverb to simulate the room.... And 4 specific distorsion in line from the distorsion in the Nird to the distorsion of the VentII...
Still saving...
