I have a SS v3 and I am not gassing for this. At 65 pounds it will be very unwieldy with that external plastic handle. I find it is hard enough to lift the 42 pounds with that type of handle, as it cuts into your hand. And I don't use a sub, as it does not really necessary in a rock band with a bass player. I also already have a mixer, so I don't need the additional input.

I do think, though, it will be very popular and there will be a lot of SSv3s available on the used market at attractive prices-

I heard this at NAMM on a lunch break and it does indeed sound really great. Yes, it's much beefier to carry, but provides a much beefier audio output. The A/B compare qas quite dramatic.

Probably not seeing this in my near future at this time, but this will be a good fit for many people who are running two-kbd rigs and don't want to carry submixer.

Bless, Pablo

And, that's where I'm at.

The SSXL would be one BIG box, replacing 3 rig pieces: the SS3, a sub, and a mixer with extra audio and power cables.

The advantages for me would be better (I am assuming, without an actual test-drive) sound, less gear to setup/breakdown, and one less trip from vehicle to stage.

The only disadvantage I see would be hauling that sucker up/down stairs, twice per month at our home joint.

Sounds good to me... (My back is saying, "No! Don't do it!")

Seems like a great amp but 65 lbs. is too much for me.

Based on my experience with the (regular) SS-3, I will DEFINITELY spend the $1,400 to get this.
Volume does not = Soul,
but GOOD TONE does = BLISS.

Yeah, given my GAS patterns, this one is on the list. I could see me wheeling this bad boy into a bar gig, and having a blast.

Not available until May. I'll probably buy mine in June, and post a review.

I bet it sucks. I had the Motion Sound Leslie (a 1700 amp.) it was terrible. Built with super cheap materials,,it was really terrible if I had known then what I know now I would have picked up two powered speakers and run in stereo:

And that's how I feel about this item. I feel like it's gimmicky and I've read reviews of the original that say if the side vent is aimed toward another person it's harsh on their ears. I get the impression this is just a gimmick which doesn't Live up to the hype, the price just makes you think it's awesome...

If I had that kind of money today I would grab two Yamaha DXR or QSC K10

KyleM -- I own two of the current Spacestation V3. Not anything like you say. Go check out the 183-page thread over at Keyboard Corner, then come back and share your thoughts.

I am lucky enough to have a sizable inventory of self-powered PA units (2xQSC K8, 2xQSC K10, 2xQSC K12, 2xFA 12ac, 2xRCF TT08a). For small venues and rehearsals, the CPS SSv3 is quite unique in what it does. Not for everyone, but nothing else has the same secret sauce. Many loyal fans, including me.

The few people who have heard the XL have described it as just like the SSv3, only bigger and louder. And there's going to be a market for that. Yes, it will have to compete more intensely with a pair of self-powered PAs, but it will have an advantage in being able to surround the audience in a unique way.

I may buy one out of sheer curiosity.

Wow, well I would say you would be qualified to be an expert. Maybe it's because the Motion Sound Leslie left such a bad taste in my mouth, and that coupled with negative reviews of spacestation: indicating one of the speakers on the side is harsh on anyone it's pointing at. Also I believe I read there is not a lot of low end. I would LOVE to be able to produce sn "all around the room" type of sound that's up there with a real Leslie cabinet. I know that's nearly impossible but in your experience does the Spacestation serve organs well enough to be considered above let's say 2 QSC k10? Coz, I want either 2 K10 or k12. And now that I'm reading about this Spacestation I'm considering it, but I just feel like it might be a gimmick.... I am giving it an honest second thought thanks to you chiming in however. So for a great rotory speaker organ emulators between 1 and 3 what would rank 1 being best and 3 being worst. And are there any other speakers other than qsc you would recommend?
