Re: Cable set up Nord Piano 3 and Neumann monitors and subwo
Radial makes great stuff, but its the wrong tool for the job. The output of the Nord is NOT designed to drive a power amp directly. The speakers in question are expecting to be driven by a balanced line-level signal and provide no mixing or gain staging. You want a mixer between the Nord and the Speakers.
You've just spent $3000 on a keyboard and another $2000 on speakers. Your not doing yourself any favors trying to duct tape and bubble gum your NP3 to your speakers.

Ok thank you for that but could you please suggest the best solution so that I can see a way forward?
The speakers are powered and active. Do you know about them?

I was also looking for a keyboard submixer recently - there were some good options discussed in this post:

At home I also have a pair of powered speakers, and I have a Mackie 402VLZ4 and a Behringer RX1602 as options to feed them. I'll probably upgrade the Behringer to a Tascam LM8ST when I can justify the outlay.
PS @JayDee, thems fighting words to call an aussie a kiwi

I think you'll find that the bargain-basement mixers introduce some hiss into your mix, not what you want with those nice monitors. So spend a little on build quality, and not necessarily more channels, effects, etc. Simple is good.
Along those lines, the Radial Engineering Key Largo is a fascinating combo device: DI, mixer, USB interface and MIDI router. Very low noise floor, decent gain and transformers that compress smoothly when needed.
It can solve your current problem plus a whole bunch of others you never knew about, especially if you play live.

I think I have gear issues ....

Re: Cable set up Nord Piano 3 and Neumann monitors and subwo
Hi folks
Ok so I bought the radial key largo home and hooked it up to the Neumann kh810 and still the same problem, the subwoofer doesn’t take any of the sounds, it all goes through the kh120 monitors. We spent more than $720 today on the radial and cables and still no better off than we were. I wish I had a picture of our faces when it did not work. My heart skipped a beat.
