Wow, I'm inspired. So much so I just ordered a C2 on ebay and hope to do something similar! I went to the vintage vibe website to check out the legs and they look great. However, the thought of drilling a bunch of holes in the bottom of a C2 freaks me out a bit. If it's not too much trouble would it be possible for you to post a pic of the bottom of your C2 so I can see how the flanges were anchored?

Thanks and great job!

Another quick thought. Fender Rhodes style legs can also be purchased from vintage vibes. Anyone have thoughts on going that route?

Hey there Philly...

Yeah the thought of drilling into the bottom was daunting to me too. I'll see if I can post a picture of the leg flanges in the next little bit. I pulled the side panels off first and made sure nothing was in the way, or at risk of getting nicked by the drill bit. It does get a bit close to the key bed in the front. Getting the locking nuts and washers on was tricky at time due to the tight space...

One thing I will say, is that the overall stability has been greatly reduced compared to the "On Stage" platform stand I once used. Cosmetically the C2 looks killer on stage as a nondescript black keyboard with 'vintage' chrome legs. But she wobbles a bit. The metal chassis it has isn't all that thick and seems to flex a bit. So my thoughts regarding using Fender Rhodes legs is that I would think they would be even more wobbly. If you like the thinner look, try modifying the Nord screw-in legs for the Stage/Electro.

Good luck and enjoy your new Nord!

A few changes....

I built a Mellotron cabinet to house my Memotron, Nord Electro 3 'module', DSI Tetra, Microkorg and two pedal boards. Slide out drawer for The Tetra and Electro 3. Instead of touring with 11 pieces of roadcased gear, this is all housed in one unit. A touch heavy, but manageable, and if needs be I can pull it all out. Super fun to play, and look great on stage!

Let me know if you want one!
cheers.
