EP made entirely on Stage 76 Classic

Postby wurly_dervish » 22 Jul 2009, 22:39

Hi All,

Our entire EP was done on the Stage. We're a 3-piece, singer, pianos/synths and live drums. All the keys are the Stage, even the Grand. I had a real C7 at my disposal, but we didn't have time to mic it and the engineer thought the Steinway samples did the trick!

Hi,

great music!! Interesting line-up just with the Piano, Drums and Vocals!
I really like the E-Pianos, nice harmonies, cozy but not too simple, and layered synths/low organs, though not sure if you play all at once?? If not, how do you do it live?
And great Jazz drums but most of all congrats for your singer, great voice!! And I really like the Triphop like harmonies sometimes a bit against the base harmonies which create a great and interesting ambience! Maybe I can see you in concert when I am in CA t some point!
Keep it up!
cheers, Johannes

Thank you, Johannes,

For live shows, I'm playing the essential parts, which is usually a piano on one hand and a synthesizer on the other. A few songs are all piano, low octaves and fifths can fill in for a bass in some cases. Sometimes that synthesizer is a bass, other times an ambient line. The over-dubs are also done on the stage 76, there were a few places that needed a bit more "oomph." We're playing somewhat regularly in San Francisco, so if you make it to the West Coast give us a shout.
