Hi guys,

just chiming in to assure you that we try our best to make this forum a useful and friendly place out there. Indeed there are many very knowledgable and luckily also helpful that spend their spare time to help fellow musicians out, which I truly think is wonderful!
As we state in the forum rules, using the search function (as stated in the forum rule No.1 is usually a good idea, in most cases even googling it will bring the relevant posts up.
That being said, everyone is welcome here and happy about every new fellow keys (or drums) player! :welcome:

More to the point of the OP, as being hinted to, what you are asking for is technically not possible on the Nord Piano (and will not be in the future with an updated OS etc). The question has been discussed mainly with regard to the Nord Stage, where a "workaround" is to use two panels between one can switch without the sound to stop playing (but which is not possible on the Nord Electro or Piano.

Anyways, also from my side a welcome to the forum, thanks to everyone for their contributions to continue make this place a lovely red corner online!

Cheers, Johannes

Here's what is called support! Notice the contrast between our support person's response and the thoughtful, courteous and informative information provided by Mr. Lindroth.

Staffan,
Thank you for your thorough explanation. I now understand the situation. Although I am disappointed, at least now I know why I'm disappointed. Thank you again. ...Francis

For some background: This behaviour is the same on all Nord instruments (excluding some of the Lead synthesizers), and has - so far at least - not been implemented, due to the significant increase in hardware requirements. Essentially, and somewhat simplified, this feature would require a “second instrument” under the hood, in terms of processing power. So it’s a matter of costs and priorities. There is no workaround for this on the Nord Piano 3, other than “learning” how to perform and time changes as smoothly as possible. Given its dependance on hardware it is not a feature which can be added through a system update either.

Thank you Johannes.
Just think if I took our support persons advice and slogged through years of posts only to find out what I'm asking for is not even possible.

Hi Frank,

Sometimes this written computerese mode of communication can convey a tone which was not intended. I'm sorry if anything I said gave you the impression that anything you might ask is "beneath" me -- that was certainly not my intention, and I sincerely apologize if I created that impression.

Had I been paying closer attention, I would have realized that you are not a Stage owner, but a Piano owner; I missed that detail. There are significant workaround strategies for those who happen to own a Stage model, and my suggestion of searching archives was intended to steer you in the direction of something which would have been meaningful to you if you had a Stage. DJ to the rescue, though perhaps he, too, failed to notice that you're on a Piano model and not a Stage model.

Bless, Pablo
