I like ;-) Thing I could live without is the SSD, and maybe the Tablet holder as I am not a big fan, but agree it could be useful for many. But the rest are meaningful features.
Nice job Procman! Hope the picture doesn't get deleted as it's really awesome.

This is missing, not only in the NS2, but in the great majority of synths:
Velocity sensitive attack.
When you hit harder, the velocity reduces the attack time. This would be quite good to play strings patches very realistically rather than using always the same attack value.

Checking all the piano samples for the Stage 2 I find the differences noticable but (too) subtle. I'm looking for a more stringy and less hammered piano sound (like in These are the days / Jamie Cullum) which does not seem available. Currently owning the Classic which has a Yamaha Stage Piano sampe (don't know which version) which is getting into that direction but doesn't quite reach. Of course I tried adding some highs with the EQ which makes it a bit (not enough) better in the mids but getting ugly in the highs.

Hello to all you Nord-fans,

What I'm missing for quite a long time now is another OS-upgrade for the Nord Stage 2 !!
Nord makes cool stuff, but unfortunately, with most of the attention and focus on new products,
there seems to be little time left for making older instruments better.

I think this is a shame, especially when you keep in mind that the NS2 is Nord's flagship !!
A beautiful, magnificent instrument wich I love to play every day ! But without an upgrade for
so long now, the flag on this ship seems to get a bit ragged and dusty.

So... Nord crew, please make me and thousends of other fans happy with OS 1.80 or.... 2.0 ?!?
And please, give your very nice pitch-stick more power by increasing its bend-range !!! From -24/+24
would be superb, but -12/+12 would be also very nice !! And make it variable, so that for example
things like -19/+5 or -5/+9 are possible to play with.

And what to think of making it another toy for morphing ?? Seems damned cool to me !!!

Nord crew.., please give this nice wooden piece more use than it has now. Very cool looking and
feeling, but it's performance is to small and disappointing for the electro-modern times we are
living in today !

Thank you very much indeed for making the NS2 such a powerful and enjoyable instrument !!!!

But...., some of you guys who read this lines are old enough to remember famous Steve Austin as a
6 million dollar man. That was way back in the seventies ! And, for a lot less money (it's already been
paid by all you NS2-owners), some day I hope a Nord-crew guy will say to his colleagues :
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's
first super-electronic high end updated keyboard. The Nord Stage 2 will be that keyboard.
Better than he was before.
Better, stronger, faster.....

:thanks:

Gero Drnek wrote:#1 I`m also missing the "Sustainpedal as Rotor toggle" function, cause i mostley need both hands for other purposes. Especially as i use the triple sustain pedal.
Shift-System —> Sustain Pedal Func: Sus+RotrTgl

Works fine with every Sustain pedal I've used, including the Nord Triple.

NS2 Wish List:
1. That I had one! I love my Classic, but the NS2 is a significant upgrade

2. Record and Wav playback from USB stick or SD card- this would solve much of my workstation envy/need when contemplating the incredible expense (and therefore commitment) to buying a NS2. I'm a bit computer phobic when it comes to music, so I'd rather not have to rely on that for simple recording. The Korg Kross is a $700 (61 note) keyboard that has this as well as OVERDUBBING what you've already recorded- fan freakin' tastic!!!!!!! And the implementation is so super simple that i'm confident it's something Nord could implement in their usual brilliant simple way.

3. Half-pedaling and sustain with one pedal- it's unrealistic to expect a 3 pedal setup (cost and hassle) to get that feature

4. EQ in synth section (as a Classic owner, I use mine alot)

5. The 3 FX sections assignable to one or two or all three engines. It would work like it does now, but if you wanted the synth and piano engines to use the same fx section, then you would press SHIFT, and it would cycle through all the possible combinations of 2 and 3 engines being assigned.

6. Shave off 5-10 pounds; I think of this everytime I schleep it, being that the case adds another 30 pounds or so. This makes the transition to something like the PX5s seem very attractive

7. Global 3 band adjustable EQ (in addition to existing assignable per engine EQ): many (most?) stage pianos have this feature so that you can quickly adjust the overall sound for the sound system/room

8. Audio over USB

9. More synth parameters that could be accessed/edited via an editor

10. Microphone/audio input with dedicated volume knob and FX

11. Adjustable velocity curves for aftertouch- I imagine that the aftertouch sensitivity is a compromise to accommodate everyone from ham-fisted to light touch players, but for me it requires more pressure, and is therefore more fatiguing, than I would like. I imagine this could be solved by building AT that kicks in sooner than it does now, and having velocity curves that are appropriate to your style of playing.

12. Less clatter from the keybed. I don't know if the NS2 is an improvement over the Classic, but my board is really noisy

13. More morphable knobs, esp. in the synth section and the amp sim drive.

14. More parameters (like pitch bend range) savable per patch (even if this involves menu diving).

I can't be bothered to check back over this thread. In case it's not been mentioned, a motorised morph wheel would be nice. This would allow for the morph wheel position to be stored and instantly retrieved for any patch as required.

Dear Darren, then perhaps putting in couple of ribbon strips like ones on Prophet12 may be a much better tool.

Hello everyone,
I just replaced my good old NE 2 by a brand new NS 2 compact.
I'm pretty happy about the instrument but I think they should've managed a way to be able to a sound to keep playing (with the release, through the reverb or with the sustain pedal) while the program is changed. It works with the slots but it could've been cool to have it with the program changes (for a song that requiers more than one program storage).
For exemple if I play a mellotron chord and I press the sustain pedal just before changing program it should keep playing the chord until the next thing I play.
They have it on MainStage and it's pretty convenient...
Cheers
