Re: Nord Drum 3 and 3P
The plot thickens...
Unrelated but I remember in a vid the guy stating the ND3P has softer buttons to avoid damaging the unit due to over zealous use of drum sticks, nice touch.
As an ND1, ND2 and Pad owner I can clearly see the shortcomings of this new boy, gutted since the new effects would lend themselves well to the features that are now somewhat missing! The fact that the ND Pad is not compatible seems a little short sighted.
I just hope this 3 is not the end of the line with a dumbing down of features for the preset community. A real shame not to have any new synthesis models or filters or functions to explore bar the fx.
The reverb does sound great though I must admit.
I know I will buy the ND3 eventually, purely because it's an ND! By far the greatest perc synth known to man or beast, if only there was a way to smash all three together for a humungous drum brain that is only lacking a sequencer (Nord beat can kiss my rimshot until is supports chromatic mode).
Only function I wish to see implemented is the ability to switch the Midi out to a Thru so the user could chain the brains together without a splitter.
NORD DRUM FOREVEEEEERrrrrrrrrr!

Re: Nord Drum 3 and 3P
Yeah could be that they had second thoughts and went back to the drawing board for the ND3,
to either add some buttons for missing parameters, or who knows, more outputs or Pad compatibility?
Or they were having some technical problems/ too far behind on schedule and had to postpone it
They didn't bring a prototype to the Messe I think, only the ND3P

Re: Nord Drum 3 and 3P
Good point @wartaler, no proto at the Messe.
I'm interested in pricing too, it has a lot missing from the ND2 engine so maybe the price will reflect that, even with the delay and reverb added.
Either way I am looking forward to a full 16 channels of ND synthesis! ND1-2-3 for me!
Hopefully we will be treated to some more audio clips too, I still listen to the ND2 demos because I just love it so much...

Re: Nord Drum 3 and 3P
Sweetwater has the presale up for the 3P (still no sign of the 3 anywhere). $700

Pretty good deal compared to the ND2 with pad.

Only a little over a week left in June... Think we'll see these before July? Still curious about the module version and it's fate...

Re: Nord Drum 3 and 3P
A few websites are still selling the ND2 pad, but it's been back ordered for months. One of them just posted that they're expecting it in early August, and that's when I'm now expecting the 3P as well.
