The bottom line, which Nord and all of us will have to grasp is that:-
The technology and quality will advance. Nord have proven the market and there are much bigger players, (think Apple and Microsoft) who are ready to pick up the baton and run with it.
I have a Stage EX88 and I should be about ready to buy a Stage 3 when it comes out, as it will offer a level of improvement per £ that I am prepared to go with.....think NS Classic - Stage 2 jump, maybe there will be others to consider. This time, Korg got it wrong. I'm sure their development team are not blind/stupid.
Like Nord are metering out improvements in various models in a frustrating and irritating manner, their customers have little brand loyalty and are prepared to pay for the sounds, the portability, the service, the backup and the updates.
I happen to use a Nord as it is the best. If someone else comes along, maybe I'll use them.
The Nord business model is running out of room for improvement, thus room for squeezing cash out of people.
I wonder if we'll actually see a stage 3, or whether the company will have decided to pursue a new dynamic.
Call me cynical, but time will tell.
PETITION for a new RHODES sample (sign if you want it)
NS2-88
SIGNED!!
Its ok to Keep all the same model Rhodes but please please please give us new, larger, more detailed samples.
Why is it that so much detail and size went into the acoustic pianos and not the Rhodes?
The Kronos is really whipping Nord in Rhodes, Clav and Wurli sounds!

Re: PETITION for a new RHODES sample (sign if you want it)
Is the Kronos a serious contender in your opinion?
I will be updating my Nord in about 18 months and am pretty sure the Stage 3 will probably still be short of it's potential (ie:- features on the other range)

Sad, but maybe you are right and the NS3 will indeed be short of features.
Like I said before, Nord are making boards with little difference from each other, and if they think I will buy a second Nord board because of it they are wrong.
I think that they are wasting money in the NE, they could just make the NS, NP, NC and a mix of NL and MW.
I was just thinking about the Rhodes samples that are old, but after thinking a litte more, I guess Nord company are getting out of the way that it started.
Now I have the NS2 and if things keep going this way, I don't see myself buying another Nord board in the next 3 years or maybe more if the upgrades don't be good enough.
New Rhodes samples it a simple thing that are showing me the way things are going from the company to us.
To bad that for almost everything, it's always about money and not about the satisfaction.

Re: PETITION for a new RHODES sample (sign if you want it)
Hi everyone,
I just sent the FIFTH message to the Clavia guys about this petition and will be the last time I'm doing this.
Is there a reason to not give us new very essential Rhodes samples?
Rhodes sound it's a must have, it's the basic together with Ac. Piano, hammond and at least a synth pad sound.
I'm saying it because this is the way this keyboard from Nord started.
So, I guess me and others are not saying to much when we ask for a new Rhodes sample.
Let's see how long it will take.
PS: I'm not buying or helping anybody else buy a Clavia keyboard until I see some feedback, I mean, new rhodes samples.

Re: PETITION for a new RHODES sample (sign if you want it)
With my experience with my NS2 on stage, I'm not so much troubled with the sound of the current Rhodes selection. The problem I do have is the lack of volume in the upper octaves. When comping and playing solos using the upper octaves, the volumes are uneven and unrealistic causing left hand comping to cover up the right. If there are new Rhodes samples released I would hope the volume would be more uniform or more like an original Rhodes. Thanks.

So, what exactly did you send to them? A link to this thread or some compiled information?
I haven't "signed" the PETITION for two reasons:
1. I'm happy with the current Rhodes samples. I didn't buy the NS2 expecting Clavia to improve the EPs, organ, or pianos. It's always nice when they do. I got what I paid for and have received a few nice updates since (bonus).
2. I deplore the use of the word "PETITION". It's use kind of invokes the "we want it, give it to us because we demand it" attitude. I think a well written summary of this thread sent to the appropriate people and asking if it would be possible to get them to consider it would be much more effective (and maybe that has been done).
P.S. I will continue to sing the praises of the NS2 because it does exactly what I expect it to and for my purposes, it's the best offering for the money.

That´s just my opinion!
I play Nord for seven years, and they have always tried to improve their sounds and instruments. And they gave us free updates as long as it was technically possible .
And i´m sure they will also improve their E-pianos.

The email I've sent is explaining the situation and also, asking then to take a look in the petition and also in other users opinions and needs.
I understand the way you fill about your purshase, if you are happy with it, then it's a good thing.
But, as always, everyone has their own tastes and needs, so, things that work for you, maybe don't work for someone else.
I see the word "petition" as when you ask for something that you would be happy to receive from the person or company that provided the product that you bought and now, have realised that something is missing.
Anyway, I'm also happy with my NS2, but, it could be better...

Re: PETITION for a new RHODES sample (sign if you want it)
I have come full circle to the point that I want another Mk1 Suitcase 88.
The Nord Rhodes sounds are not good enough and despite giving us endless Abominogazogawog Samples and God-Damn tack pianos, they overlook the reason that most of us buy these things.
We are fed up with dragging around bloody great boxes in order to get the sound. Bloody great boxes which go wrong occasionally and require tuning and tinkering.
I hated gigging the Rhodes. It was a royal pain, but I could set it up right and it played perfectly. The Nord Rhodes sounds are lacking and it seems I am not alone in my thinking.
Jeez. If they gave me the gubbins to create a sample, I'd buy a piano and sample it. It is not necessary to pay matey £100k It isn't that much of a task. I have access to an anechoic chamber and could rig up a trigger mech.
I've decided that 95% isn't good enough and sadly, I'll be going back to the Suitcase. I'll keep the Nord, but it's back to the old lump and dragging it around as far as I am concerned.
