Well, I sold my Electro 3 and ordered a new NS2 Compact. I have been reading reviews, manuals, and the forum comments for about a month and decided that if I can get a board that can pretty much do it all, I would like to have one keyboard only to take to gigs. I really like the build quality and weight of the Nords, and they sound great to me. I still have the Nord Wave, and although financially I should sell it, I really don't think I can, it is just too nice of a synth.

I am sure I will have many questions going forward. Should be here next Monday or Tuesday.

All I can say is, what a killer keyboard! I wrote some first impressions in another thread. This has to be one of the best sounding, easiest to use keyboards ever designed. Pretty impressed here.....

Hey guys,

Looking to be a new Nord Stage 2 SW73 owner....I'm actually debating the purchase today because Guitar Center is having the July 4th sale.....my debate is their "pro coverage" warranty as opposed to the manufacturer warranty.....

Any thoughts?......I feel as tho I'm not saving money ($500 USD) off with the July 4th sale...if I'm purchasing their extended warranty....

I've looked at bundle sights so on...... but with sales tax (TX) so on after discounts and tax I'm looking at $3,354.00 which is saving more than most bundles.....am I being hasty thinking that I'm purchasing during a great sale?.....btw it's $3,600.00 roughly with the "extended pro coverage" warranty

I don't know for sure how it is in the States, but in the UK extended warranties are regarded as little more than a scam. Retailers - particularly in domestic goods such as fridges, tv's, cookers etc - make a huge profit from these warranties and push them on their customers very hard. With Nord you are buying a top of the range professional keyboard with a world-wide reputation for reliability. I can't really tell you what to do, but I myself would be perfectly happy with the manufacturer's own warranty - and I would be very surprised if I ever had to draw on it.
