Second nord
Hi mates! I own a electro 5D. And im thinking about to buy another nord. The must be dat the both nords can used on stage.because in the nord 5 all my settings and samples are programmed. So the other keyboard must also read smtp samples..witch ones can read and load the same registrations? Meanreason is when one keyboard is broken what posdible is i have the second to go on. Thinking to buy the same keyboard or? Something else?

Re: Second nord
Hi
There is no Nord that could read the same registration and/or same configuration unless it's the same instrument, like Electro 5 to Electro 5 but different keybed or stage 2/2EX etc.... Thus, unless you buy another Electro 5, you will
Never be able to transfer the "settings" of your 5D to a Stage or Piano....
Nevertheless, for samples, nsmp samples, Stage can load them, both Stage 2/2X or 3, there is a converter that exists to transform them from nsmp to nsmp 3 samples, usable on the Stage 3....
And on the Piano, the last Pianos can load the nsmp samples as well...
But if you are worried about having a "broken" Nord, it's really unexpected, Nord having built their reputation on reliability for professionals, on tour, road case and so on so, buying the same just as a back up is a waste of money for me....
If you need a second Nord, better to buy one that will fit your needs:
1) If you need more synths sounds that you could tweak, buy a Nord Lead, A1/4/2/2X....This is what I did after I bought my Stage 2.
2) If you miss the real Piano Keybed, buy a Nord Piano...
Note that you won't be able to load any nsmp in any Nord Lead...You can on the last Nord Piano....
3) If it's the quality of the Nord samples that you think are not top notch, buy a Roland or a Yamaha or a Korg or any keyboard that will be more a multi layers "Rompler". It could even be an old expander, I bought the old XV5080 from Roland to layer their Brass and Strings sound under the samples of the Stage 2 and it works very well in a live band setting...
So, few ideas to think about...
Sincerely

To do exactly what you are asking i.e. full compatibility of Samples and Programs (registrations) the only option is to buy the same keyboard, so another NE5 (whatever the format, 61,73 or HP)
