Rotary Sims
Hadn't seen it mentioned in previous posts, but I've had the Lester K rotary simulator by Electro Harmonix for over a year and it's excellent. It's $178.00 and works and sounds great. For me, it's a nice variation on the Nord C2 between the three onboard Leslies. Also, I use the Lester K with one of my combo organs, a 1970's Yamaha YC-25D, and I'd say it's virtually as good as my Leslie 147 (with Trek II universal pre-amp) is with that set up and infinitely more manageable. I know about the Vent of course but never really wanted to get one. For the cost of the Lester K, I couldn't resist and would recommend it.

Re: Rotary Sims
I use a Hammond, digital leslie pedal in stereomode for my C2. Now I just ordered an organ & groove reverb, stereo from Reussenzehn in Frankfurt/Germany. I hope getting the real tube-overdrive out of my C2. Especially the treble sounds to me squized and not the warm tubesound that I want, so let’s hope.....

Re: Rotary Sims
Ok, I didn't know this one, I will have a look, my plan was to get a T&F overdrive and a TC Hall of Fame but why not see other options...Thanks for the info.
But I went to their website, German only...But my understanding is that you have in the same box a real tube drive and a Reverb with tube as well right? So, it could be around the same price that the solution I was thinking about with two pedals...?

The box in action on a Hammond (three boxes in test) Thomas Reussenzehn speaks english.
Yes, both drive and reverb in one box.

Re: Rotary Sims
Yes, thanks, after I wrote my post, I was thinking that I had seen a sort of comparison between all the overdrive pedals and finally found it, thanks anyway....I Had thought at that time that it was a bit pricey and big because I wanted to buy also a Vent 2 so, it adds to the price....

Re: Rotary Sims
Now I have tested Reussenzehn organ & groove preamp. Mono from the organ (Clavia Nord C2) into the preamp, mono out of the preamp into Hammond digital Leslie pedal, stereo out of the Leslie pedal. It sounds great, both reverb and drive

Re: Rotary Sims
Who, it sounds awesome....Well, I was a bit lost with German speaking....After ENGLISH my second language was Russian...Great language to learn during the Cold War....Just kidding...
So, for you, among all the organ "pedals/preamp" in the two reviews below, you think it's the best one? With two real tube right? If yes and if I change my mind for this one instead of the Tall & FT, I will have to rethink my set up...

Re: Rotary Sims
I substituted my Hammond Digital Leslie Pedal with Neovent II. The difference is huge. Combined with Organ & Groove from Reussenzehn, its absolute top of the top.

Re: Rotary Sims
Hi Fredrik,
Thanks for the update, what appelle to me In your settings is that the drive and the Reverb are In the same pedal so, two pedals only instead of 3....Well, I was planning to use the dirt from my C2, but I agree, it's ok but not very natural....Cipholis was talking about getting a real tube overdrive ....And if I really need a crazy overdrive like the one on "Lazy/Deep Purple", well, I could dial in both anyway...
So, thanks a lot again, I have the C2, I'm not planning any update but drive/reverb/Leslie might be the two deal....The only thing is that you have Reverb before Leslie right? Which is not the normal path....In the C2, the Reverb is after the Leslie Sim right?

Re: Rotary Sims
Sorry to reheat a getting cold thread but having had all my gear stolen over the holiday period, and starting again, the topic of Leslie sims etc has been fresh on my mind.
My beloved first generation Neo Ventilator has gone and I have to say that I am NOT a fan of the Ventilator II. It is well known that the same basic sound engine is at the heart, so in theory you should be able to dial the same tones, but in my experience there is so much more to fiddle with on the V2 that not only is it far less intuitive - for my money leaving all the controls at 12 noon (except overdrive to taste) did the trick on the first gen Vent - but it never seems to be how you left it upon breaking the unit out to use! The controls seem far more likely to move in transit, including plunging the thing into editor mode and requiring lots of corrective editing 15 mins before showtime!
Re Leslie fore/aft reverb - my intention is to buy a TC Hall of Fame reverb and feed it in stereo from my eventual choice of Leslie sim (probably a Strymon Lex as I don't like the Mk 2 Vent). This has a nice warm and fat spring mode that is as far removed as can be from the over lush, over cinematic reverbs that are always given to you on instruments as the freebie, C2D included.
