Hi all,
I might be wrong but anyone having the impression that piano in NS3 overall sounds way brighter (too 'much' treble ?) since the latest OS ? I play the nord through 2 Yamaha HS80M to get the real unchanged sound as intended with the nord piano samples but have the impression (again impression - my ears) ? Thx

Re: Overall Piano EQ brighter ?: Nord Stage 3 OS 1.28 update
... so I keep on updating my own post
just to inform my Monitors Room control switch changed so one of the potential reasons why it sounded brighter - no worries on the red one but still I feel either the keyed / velocity curves have changed and / or new EQ functionality (SOFT / TREB / BRILL) has somehow an impact on overall Piano EQ ... - cheers

Hi Analogika,
I have the same problem here. To me NS3 is sounding to much brighter than NS2.
The worse thing is, I put both of them side by side, same cable, same level, same sample Bosie Lrg and of course same NS-10 speakers.
I don't know what happened but to me is something related to preamp out ou DA conversion.

Hi Aurellopenna,
Have updated my previous post. As in other posts on this forum, I think it is a mixture of different velocity curves and / or the new piano EQ functionality (piano filters) even if not activated having an impact on DA for the piano section ?
Clavia seems to be aware (at least for the velocity curves) so assume it will be addressed at some point / level.

Hi Robbieuswain,
I think it to, and checkout some samples I posted on my topic.
But I do believe that it sound diferent too, and the only thing they can improve is only the velocity layer (if so), because de the impact of the totally diferent eq session (in terms of frequency response) could yes have an impact on DA session on ENTIRE keyboard by the way not only in piano session.

Yes, the Stage 3 sounds quite different from the Stage 2, and it’s not just the pianos. Much nicer high end, much more silky and expensive-sounding. The Stage 3 has a sheen to it that is just beautiful and reminds me of the Yamaha gloss that I’ve always loved. Cuts through the mix far better, too.
I really love what they’ve done with the sound - the *only* thing I wish they’d change (or let us adjust) is to give the Leslie rotor a little more level to give the organ a little more warmth.

... totally agree
The *only* thing I wish they’d let us adjust is Horn/Rotor Balance (additional organ related parameters - as by NE5)
