Can anyone explain how I can get my NS3 into Test Mode?

Are you in the states?
If so you might want to shoot an email to Pablo.Mastodon@AmericanMusicAndSound.com
He is a technical support rep and may know how to do it.

In a message in another thread, someone referred to something called test mode. I believe that stated that from "test mode" they could do the factory restore. As it stands now, my NS3 won't boot to a point where it is recognized by my computer, so I am not able to do a restore. I have a call in to Pablo. If and when I have more information to share, I will post it here.

Yes, I was able to get in touch with Pablo, who walked me through the process. Although I tried to document it for future reference (which I hope I don't need), I would recommend that you contact Pablo Mastodon, who is the US/Canada designated Nord tech support rep, if you ever need to use it. He was very responsive and very helpful.
Basically, it gives you the option to completely wipe out different parts of the flash memory (OS, Piano memory, etc.) so that you can start rebuilding things again. Its not pretty. In my case, it was eventually determined that there was a hardware issue with my unit (I believe in the Flash memory). Fortunately, my vendor (Sweetwater) was also very responsive and replaced my unit very quickly.
