Longer power cord?

Postby OrpheusNY » 17 Nov 2017, 23:57

Has anyone replaced the Electro 5's rather short power cord with something longer? How long did you go?

Since it's a standard power cord outlet on the Nord I use any cord lying around.
The band has a full bag of those things, from about 1 to 10 meters in length.
I don't know which cord came with the unit by now...

The bonus of this cord is that, if you ever forgot it, you could run into a Wal Mart type store and find something. Small point until it happens. I bought a red cord from a supplier, but the joke was on me; the "red" is almost Orange to the rest of us.

In a one-time panic situation, I "borrowed" a cord from a nearby office PC... :shh:

Orpheus, there has been a glutinous addition of powered speakers to the market in the past 15 years or so. Most music stores stock 25 foot power chords. And yes, a simple extension chord would do it, however, I try to limit junction points, especially on stage where some moron can "accidentally" trip over said point and disconnect you from the main system, resulting in unfortunate and possibly damaging cracks and bangs.

And You don't even need to find a music store.
Any store that sells power cords will do.
If it looks like it will fit, it's a perfectly good replacement cord.

I have a Y power cord that came off of one of our servers. It is really handy. Have the NS3 and A1 both plugged in with one outlet used. Super slick.
